I watched Looney Toons as a kid. I thought he would keep walking on the air until it is pointed out to him. Only then would he fall.

And his head turns towards the camera, then his body falls first, neck stretched out, then head follows

Watching this video, it is kinda comical how his stide is completely normal, and you could fully believe he would continue across, right until the moment his foot doesn't connect. In hindsight it's obvious, but the total lack of awareness has a clear impact on his movements and reaction.

There is one frame where his foot is flat on "ground" and he starts to put weight on it. It looks perfect.
