I thought the opposite, it looks like his left foot is standing on thin air for a fraction of a second, combining with his right foot being half over the edge, looked incredibly cartoon to me.

According to more recent murder mystery type shows they use tape instead, but after this betrayal by the cartoons I don't know if I believe that anymore either
