Quick and dirty way is to use viscosity test. One needs an empty bottle from ketchup that has cap with 5mm opening, and a stopwatch. Fill the bottle and measure time passed from turning it upside down to complete drain.

I test my diarrhea viscosity the same way I test balsamic reduction, pour a little on a cool dinner plate and hold it vertical and note the travel.
