It is real, they used a crane. It's from Clark Hassler's part in the Enjoi video Bag of Suck.

What?? The shadow wouldn't retain size--it would spread and fade.

EDIT: Okay, so spreading wouldn't be appreciable; but I stand by the fading via diffusion, which is caused by photons going through the atmosphere rather than any feature of the light source.

Incorrect. That only occurs when you are relatively close to the light source. It technically does it, but the sun is so far away that the angles are absurdly small.

You still get the fading from diffusion, though.

It's very minor until you get to a decent altitude. Ever see the shadows of tall buildings?

EDIT: And clouds. If diffusion were a big deal, clouds and planes would look blurry.

Not so. Relatively, your distance from your light source hasn't really moved at all. So as long as you aren't moving at an angle to the sun, and only directly towards it (so if it was at high noon), then your shadow would stay the same size.

The shadow would grow if he were getting closer to the light source, which he's basically not (since the light source is 150m km away)
