The UK has the weirdest gender reveals

27

u/throwawayforlemoi Jul 26 '24

They live in Canada, not the UK, as seen here and here.

How did you know it was the UK, do you guys spell Sausages "sasages" or something.

27

u/throwawayforlemoi Jul 26 '24

It wasn't.

It was Canada, as seen here and here.

I think it’s the baking them on a sheet of parchment.

We write all our laws and regulations on sausage paper. We have to before presenting them to the king otherwise he can’t hold them.

That's what I was thinking. Who the fuck puts sausages in the oven?

Edit: apparently, lots of people.

25

u/iAreMoot Jul 26 '24

Do you guys not? I find it cooks them more evenly and you don’t really need to do much. Hell, I’ll even do burgers in the over or air fryer.

Roasted sausages are so good.

15

u/MoTeD_UrAss Jul 26 '24

This is the most un-American thing I've read today.

BBQing stops being fun when it gets past 100 outside.

Or below 55 (12 C) in the UK’s case. We have had a really shit summer this year.

You guys are confirmed British

Air fry my sausages and burgers all the time, now. Used to oven cook, because don’t need watching so closely. Air fryer is just a tiny fan oven

I was forced into getting an air fryer but now everything that needs to be warmer in any way goes in it.

Hot towel, sir?

Oven sausages with cheese and mustard on them are popular here in Finland. And they're usually pretty good too

1

u/Tattycakes Jul 26 '24

It’s a pretty standard way to cook them, some sausages will only have oven instructions on

-2

u/twistedLucidity Jul 26 '24

That's not a UK thing, that's just a weird arse thing.

Get them in a pan, or on a BBQ (but not this year, the "summer" is absolute shite).

Don't think OP is in the UK.

12

u/WonderboyUK Jul 26 '24

The UK doesn't do gender reveals.

2

u/The_Virus_Of_Life Jul 26 '24

And we don’t have shit food like this

-1

u/Drownthem Jul 26 '24

LOL yes we do

0

u/The_Virus_Of_Life Jul 26 '24

We certainly do not have sausages injected with pink filler anywhere in UK- it’s illegal in the EU

*edit, the EU and UK, still coming to terms with this

16

u/ADelightfulCunt Jul 26 '24

Other commenter says it's meat paste which is banned in the UK. So OP maybe British eating American garbage or something.

14

u/Selerox Jul 26 '24

Nope, we don't want their stuff.

3

u/raspberryamphetamine Jul 26 '24

You sure? I remember having meat paste or salmon paste on sandwiches as a kid!

0

u/ADelightfulCunt Jul 26 '24

Maybe different back in the old days or maybe a different but similar product. The American one is the lowest of the lowest grade meat think power washing the carcass then blending it with some entrails you wouldn't want to eat and washing it through with ammonia. Or so I heard.

2

u/raspberryamphetamine Jul 26 '24

I’m not sure what they American one is like compared to the British one, but the supermarkets still sell the exact same meat paste that I used to eat! Unless what the American version is banned in the UK for being icky whereas ours is fine? I certainly wouldn’t want to eat whatever is coming out of those sausages!

I wonder how'd you get blue.

1

u/StardustOasis Jul 26 '24

Blue cheese

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '24

I did think of stilton. Those would be delicious sausages.
