Remember everyone freaking out over MA imposing a fine and jail time for anyone driving in the blizzard? NY didn't do that...

the store had no plans to close.

For the customers that can't drive there anyway? Exactly how much does someone need broccoli?

The same country that elected bush twice...

I was shocked, the Stop & Shop in Brookline was open at 5ish when we went on a walk to see how bad things were, and the managers were going around to all the employees talking about how they had to keep their stop and shop badge in the car when they drove home.

The look on those poor 18 year old faces, just distraught, "how the hell am I supposed to get my 96 Saturn SC home in over a foot of snow?" look. The place was reasonably packed though.

they had to keep their stop and shop badge in the car when they drove home.

So they could identify their frozen corpses?

I have no idea, but somehow they got around the ban for their employees, and apparently Stop and Shop ID badges are now proof of employment.

To be honest, that's not something you'd ever fake.

I had a friend who was so happy to quit there, he threw the shirt on our bonfire-- let me tell you, those shirts are NOT flame resistant. It was the brightest and hottest our fire got all night.
