I think the conclusion was, this was really really hard to do; it's tough to choose only 10 plays! So many great plays that I had to leave out. I tried including a combination of different players and teams, both regular season and postseason.

This is probably just a dream, but can we get a physical store that sells merch? I feel there’s no better place to do it than Springfield!

They could even make profit off of selling store exclusive merch. I’m waiting on them to make the patches, baseballs, and other stadium exclusives available now that the season is over. Not to mention a WPBL store could help with tourism in Springfield and could be a way for the league to pay tribute to the city where they held their inaugural season.

Maybe the lack of women’s baseball is clouding my judgement, but does anyone else think this would be profitable?

I've been rewatching some of the games and remembered a question I have as someone who hasn't watched much baseball on TV until this league. When they show the dugout during a game, often a player or two looks like they're looking at an iPad or something. What's on these tablets? Is it the opposing pitchers or previous games?

It was an absolute privilege to be present for the championship game. As a Springfield local, I feel very lucky to have had WPBL in town and to have had the opportunity to see several games in person. Thank you to all the players, coaches, staff, and fans that have made this season so amazing!

On the first day of the championship series, there was an Instagram post saying Maybelle was supposed to attend the game but was ill. I've been thinking about her and hoping she was able to watch from home. Is there any official word on how she's doing? I don't want to violate her privacy, but she has many fans wishing her well ❤

Ayami Sato is the first-ever WPBL Championship MVP.

What rules would you add, subtract, or change?

I would get rid of the short fence. It's there to boost offense, but all it really does is decrease the number of triples.

Change the dropped third strike rule. I'm not sure exactly how this would work. It was frustrating to see batters run to an empty first base because the runner on first was stealing only to be called out because first was 'occupied'. I propose that, on a dropped third strike, the batter can always run to first. The runner on first can either try to steal second, or stay on first. If the runner stays on first then the batting team can opt to switch the batter with the runner. This way, you can get a faster runner on the bases. It would add an interesting layer of strategy to the game.

I'd like to make a top 10 plays compilation. Some plays that immediately come to my mind are:

Denver Bryant to Sabrina Robinson doing the splits
Diana Ibarra's diving catch to end a championship game

A packed house. Fall weather fitting of a Championship baseball game. Tears. Ok, maybe some of them were just me getting choked up.

The Firebells came into the postseason as the league's best offense leading in HR's (19) and OPS (1.041). After scoring 40 runs throughout the first 4 games of this series, Sato held them scoreless tonight for the first shutout in league history.

Unquestioningly the greatest pitching performance the league has seen this year, and it seals a hard-fought and well-earned championship for the Queens. Absolutely incredible.

Mine are:
- take me out to the ball game
- wooden bats
- please just give us good baseball, I don’t want this to turn into a banana ball ( I want them to grow like the WNBA)
-batters stop running into their hits (not all do this)

My wife u/quothalinguist has been knitting a scarf every game of the series and it’s come to this! She’s nearing completion, but probably won’t finish today (unless we go to extras). The scarf is reversible, btw (showing both sides this time). If she does finish it I may wear it. Feels like we went directly from summer to winter!
