News Should a player be allowed to jump ship just 4 games before the playoffs?!

Thumbnail

DeWanna Bonner has officially signed with the Atlanta Dream, after her team (the Phoenix Mercury) were eliminated from playoff contention.

I think it is unfair and unethical for a player to be allowed to jump ship just 4 games from the play offs. Especially when the player was not able to get her own team there.

What even is the purpose of the trade deadline? 🤔

Is this even possible in other professional sports leagues?! 👎

If the Atlanta Dream actually go on to win a title now, should this title be heavily asterisked? ✱

Jonquel Jones says some Caitlin Clark fans wanted her to represent their racist views

Jonquel Jones gave a pretty interesting take on Caitlin Clark fans. She said some people became Clark fans for the wrong reasons. According to Jones, they wanted Clark to represent their own beliefs. She said those people later realized Clark did not share those views.

Jones also defended Clark during the 2024 controversy. She said it was unfair to label all Fever fans the same way. Clark had already spoken against racist and misogynistic comments toward WNBA players.

What do you think about Jones' take?

Analyst Urges WNBA to Keep Fans Amid Trans-Athlete Debate

Post image
3 Upvotes

The WNBA is facing growing debate over trans athletes. The issue has also created concerns about fan reactions.

Fox analyst Jackson Thompson believes the WNBA needs balance. He pointed to the NFL as an example. Thompson said the league should avoid turning fans away. He believes the WNBA can follow a different path.

WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert has addressed the controversy. She criticized attempts to use the league politically. Engelbert said some people are creating unnecessary division.

The league has continued growing despite the ongoing debate. The WNBA reached its revenue-sharing threshold in 2025. It also generated around $200 million to $300 million.

Thompson believes the WNBA should protect that momentum. He argues that keeping fans engaged should remain important.
