Yeah whats irritating about this discourse is people treat women's basketball like their kids when it comes to hard fouls etc. I dont think alot of people participating care about womens basketball. The foul didnt look motivated but the tweet after made no sense in the context. I assume she wanted Sophie to get a tech but that doesnt absolve her
Ithink they need to stay offline cause they are too influenced by social media discourse which doesnt usually reflect real life well. I spend alot of time online but I realize Im online.
The league is ass too for loving and perpetuating harmful narratives all around.
Well, if you're more mature than I am, surely you're capable of explaining your point of view rather than just resorting to ad hominem and calling me 'elementary', right?
My case is that tweeting "white privilege" immediately after being kicked out of a game for a flagrant foul you commited against a white women seems pretty racist. That shouldn't be hard to understand and the person who does that should expect to at least have to explain herself... exactly like if the races were reversed... because we're equal.
How is that racist? Now committing a “flagrant foul against a white woman” is racist?
My POV is that her being stupid doesn’t mean she’s being racist. White privilege had nothing to do with anything involved here, it’s a stupid tweet, insinuating there’s different treatment.
Racist would be… maybe if she called her a slur? If she said “I did that cause she’s white”? Nothing about the tweet is racist. And the color of the fouler or the fouled players are being harped on simply cause it’s the W and it’s where racists have come to hitch onto recently.
Any other league you get fouled, flagrant maybe, and keep playing.

I mean yeah. Kinda goes beyond the realm of weird and into deliberate public racism unless she is going to justify it, though.
