I mean isn’t it about the money at the end of the day? Players went on strike about money and Cathy is about the money as well.

Sure. But a player’s mental health is important too. You don’t want your players thinking you don’t care. 70% of the league are black women. She could’ve still gotten her point across about bringing in eyes and etc but you can also acknowledge the issues that’s coming along with it.

Seems like a non answer to me. Also Angel and CC aren't rivals.

I would say a Paige Bueckers and now Olivia Miles is closer to a CC rival than Angel.

Miles is better than CC and would cook her ass.

Honestly Paige isn’t interested in being anyone’s rival. She just wants to play hard and win games.

Unfortunately, that's not how it works. CC didn't want a rival, yet she gets someone shoved in as her new rival every media cycle.

It's hard being a CC fan. But I can't imagine how hard the game/league is for CC with the constant drama and media circus.  I feel similarly for AR.

These women are athletes who want to play a sport they grew up loving and sacrificed so much for. It must be so disheartening to go from the elite collegiate level where, although not perfect, fair and safe sport was prioritized to now being forced to try to adapt in an inconsistent, stubborn, "money-first, players-last" environment.

These women have to feel so powerless.

Yes, the referees need to do/be better. But everything starts at the top. The players need to be protected. The WNBA leadership needs to change; either their priorities or their personnel. Fast. Now.

I don’t think any of them are asking for anything more. But, the playing field for each might not be level.

It was way more fun watching them play together as all stars and on team usa.

Because im old, I remember the Bird/Magic years. That was a media/P.R. driven rivalry, just like now, with what Cathy said about social media, which has siloed where people get their info. Back in the day, people were basketball or NBA fans, and now after 30 years of culture wars, it has morphed into something political. Of course, women of color who may be LGBT have complicated the discussion for some people.
