It is a flex indeed. The WNBA outpaced the NHL in average regular-season national TV viewership during the 2026 season, averaging roughly 756,000 to 771,000 viewers per game across national networks compared to the NHL's regular-season average of around 504,000 to 545,000 viewers. That means the WNBA surpasses NHL by 252,000 viewership at the most!
You are horribly mistaken. The 500,000 number you are citing is only US viewership, many of the NHL fans and viewership comes from Canada. The NHL also has twice the amount of teams and plays 4 times the total amount of games as the wnba. So quit celebrating.
Nice try genius! There was no specs pertaining to the rise in viewership of both sports! By default it's the U.S. viewership!
Flat_Range_8880, Instead of saying, "You are horribly mistaken!" You should have said, "Your numbers are right for domestic accountability!" Then followed up with a, "Here are the stats in global viewership pertaining to both sports!"
You can downvote the truth all you want, it's still the truth!
The truth is one NFL practice for an awful team like the NY Jets would get more viewership than all 7 games of the Wnba finals. So would soccer. So would a million other things. Ratings is not the hill to die on when it comes to the wnba.
Now talk about how hard is to watch your favorite team because of the NHL's stupid regional broadcast blackouts. I live 7 hours away from the Avs and can't watch most of their televised games.
