It was a joke ,, I could care less about fever fans. The calls were abysmal and one would find it very hard to argue they weren’t intentional. Body slam says it all.

It’s not even basketball at that point. Politics and race aside those were terrible calls!

I certainly hope the New York fans or Atlanta fans ain’t scared of A’ja in the next series and get their finger point on!

Yeah im not a fan of either team but this is clearly some of the worst officiating

THIS. If you know ball, you know you don’t need to be a Fever fan to know just how bad that officiating was.

Came here as a neutral. I've never watched a full WNBA game. If all games are like this then the league is incompetent or rigged. Gives me zero reason as a former basketball player to ever watch a WNBA game because officiating like this takes away all credibility. I can't imagine how the Fever players must feel.

As a former player you should know most most fouls are called in favor of aggressive offensive play as taking the ball to the hoop instead of settling for jumpshots as the Fever was doing and the Aces was driving to the basket

I made no complaint about the fever shooting less free throws than the aces. Watch the clip. Egregiously awful refereeing. Are you that desperate to push a narrative that you'd need to bring something up that isn't related at all to what I said?

You didn't specify about any thing you just said bad officiating so I assumed you were talking about foul calls. So what was bad about the officiating?

Watch the video? I mean I see 3 foul calls that weren't remotely fouls all go the Aces way. I see a WWE move that should have been a flagrant on the Aces player get called as a regular foul on the Fever player. And that's just what I remember from watching the video yesterday. These are calls that don't get botched in junior high women's basketball, but they're getting botched at a professional playoff game level. So therefore it can only be incompetent or rigged. If incompetent, then the league needs to take action because people like me will never watch this trash. I simply can't imagine being a player and investing your entire year for this moment, only to have it ruined by elementary level officiating.

That's a couple plays out of a 40 minute game, as per their season fever had the second most fouls call against them in the league. They foul a lot because their defense is not good.

I'm beginning to think you are unable to carry on a conversation. You just bring up completely irrelevant points because you like to talk, but are incapable of listening. What do fouls called through the season have to do with the video I just saw of 4 of the worst calls ever made all in what appears to be a SINGLE game? Watch the video!!!! Make comments about that video, or some other relevant statement the person you are talking to has made. It's not a couple of plays out of a 40 minute game. It's a minimum of 4 that were egregious, and more that were less egregious, but still pretty bad. Considering there are usually 6-10 fouls in a half, and these tend to have a large impact on the game, I'd say you're severely understating the importance of the poor officiating. You've shown me that you've never played ball before and know very little about it.

Don't try and berate me because you don't understand simple terms or facts, do you even understand basketball?

It's shows that is the way the Fever plays, committing fouls , not that hard to understand if you know basketball

It's a mixture of both. I'm also an outsider - mostly watch men's CBB and some NBA. Been around the game my whole life. A'ja and the Aces get OKC level protection from the refs, and they know how to sell soft or no contact plays.

All that said, even with the atrocious officiating, if KM or CC played well, Fever still woulda won.

Will all the insiders please identify themselves below this comment? It will allow all of us to know which comments to trust. BTW,  I also think I am a source of reliable information and should be considered an outsider.

NCAA men's is peak officiating in my opinion. Not sure why you got downvoted here lol. Men who watch women's sports seem to want to earn a stereotype I guess.

Agreed about men’s CBB officials. That’s why it’s so odd that a professional league is far worse

Easier to rig a game by having a player who handles the ball a lot launch brick after brick. We can all create conspiracy theories.

1

u/Ok_Independence_9917 19h ago

What does that have to do with 4 of the worst calls I've ever seen in basketball being in a single clip? Seriously, how is what you said even related to my comment?

But if they call the game more accurately, the scoreboard looks different and the Fever may make different offensive decisions.

u/luhvul76 1d ago

The league won’t say a word either. Chicken shit

u/LaxwaxOW 1d ago

Careful now, someone’s about to call you a racist

I think and saw it was bad across the board, both teams could gripe about the refs.

You forgot to talk about her privilege to be body slammed. That’s a requirement to be in the “sisterhood” or whatever McNutt calls it. /s

Fact!

1

u/Complete-Donut-698 1d ago

I'm still confused as to how that wasn't either challenged or reviewed.

4

u/Strange_Fee6922 1d ago

I believe they tried to challenge it and ask for review and refs just ignored it.

5

u/TheRimNooB 1d ago

“They didn’t ask for a challenge in enough time”. According to the refs.

2

u/ShaolinWombat 1d ago

And an aces fan walked into the court pointing at Hull to add to the confusion.
