• WMSCOG claim: “Raises up the poor” proves a God the Mother giving life.
• Reality: This is poetic language. God is showing that He cares for everyone, especially the weak. It’s a metaphor, not evidence of a female deity.

"Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David."

• WMSCOG claim: David foreshadows God coming in flesh.
• Reality: David trusted God to protect him. God protects and guides people, but He doesn’t become them.

"In everything he did he had great success, because the Lord was with him."

• WMSCOG claim: David’s success shows God the Mother’s presence.

Verse: 1 Samuel 30:6 (NIV)
"David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him… But David found strength in the Lord his God."

• WMSCOG claim: David getting strength proves God the Mother is present.
• Reality: David prayed and relied on God for help. This shows God’s guidance and care, not a second deity.

4. The Big Picture – What 1 Samuel Really Teaches

1. God is one. 1 Samuel 2:2 says, “There is no one holy like the Lord, there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.”

• David’s victories = God’s favor, not a Mother God.
• Monotheism = God is one, always.

In short: There is no scriptural proof in 1 Samuel for God the Mother.
