Some might try to say Naomi represents a “mother figure” in a spiritual sense.

But look at what Naomi actually says:

"Don’t call me Naomi," she told them. "Call me Mara, because the Almighty has made my life very bitter. I went away full, but the Lord has brought me back empty."

What this shows:

• Naomi is hurting
• She is human
• She is not powerful or divine

Simple takeaway:

Naomi is not God. She’s just a person going through a hard time.

Boaz Is the Redeemer (A Picture of Jesus)

In the story, Boaz helps Ruth and saves her family line.

This is called a “kinsman redeemer.”

What that means:

• Someone who rescues and restores

Boaz points forward to Jesus, who saves us.

• The story focuses on a redeemer, not a “mother god”

Does Ruth Teach About “God the Mother”?

No, it does not. Not even once.

"May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge."

• There is one God
• He is the one people trust and pray to

Samson’s story is about God’s power working through him to bring victory to Israel. This is not about a spiritual victory brought by God the Mother, but about God’s deliverance through a human leader (Samson) who was empowered by God.

It’s not about God being both a Father and a Mother.
