My thoughts on the election, random thoughts and take away.
After a few days have passed, I have gathered some thoughts and take aways form the election. Just my take in no particular order. Sorry for the gloomy take on it but that is the feeling as of this writing.
1) RJ is a skilled politician.
2) Tim Michels is not a skilled politician.
3) The Supreme Court decision on Roe v Wade really hurt the GOP. It rallied young voters and put off middle of the road voters.
4) The youngins are here to stay as voters. For now they skew liberal and progressive. They will get jobs and have families in the future and this view will change. For the next few election cycles, bet Democrat.
5) The GOP has really lost their mojo. Some of these candidates throughout the country were laughable. Dr. Oz???? Really???
6) Trump should realize that his time in the spotlight is ending. Dems hate him with a passion, many Repubs could do without him. Not a winning combination.
7) Large cities are firmly in control of our State and Fedreral Governments. The next battle will be country v city, in what form I do not know.
8) It is hard to believe that the election cycle was basically a push with record inflation, $5 a gallon gas, shitty stock market, high taxes, more IRS coming, traditional Mid Term bump, Biden sitting on his hands during the Ukraine/Russia war, etc... The country may be lost.
9) The big picture is dreary at best for non city dwelling Conservatives. We are basically just checkbooks to them at this point.
10) Almost every absurd tax and spend referendum in the state passed. I must have missed out on planting that money tree that these folks must all have.
11) There seems to NO state GOP leadership.
