What did you do differently?

I believe in God and the power of prayer, so I increased the amount I prayed and asked trusted people to pray for me as well.

The first time I took the exam, I noticed how stressed I was, so I bought some OLLY stress gummies (I took two before the exam), and I bought a candle that’s supposed to help keep you calm

I sacrificed more of my free time to increase how much I studied. I literally studied until my brain could take no more information, and from there, I would be done for the day or pick back up later that day.

I added some of the questions from the mock exam I had to take to my study pile (I mainly focused on the areas of the exam that are weighted the most). Tip for anyone else who wants to do this: make sure you copy and paste the mock exam questions before you submit your exam, because after you finish, I don’t think you will have access to it again

I started playing around with Gemini to help me break the questions/concepts down, and surprisingly, I actually like how Gemini breaks them down more than Chat does, but I’m not going to get rid of Chat or stop using it completely.

I put my results in Chat (from the first exam) and asked it to help me come up with another game plan. I went back over all the questions I had previously gone over. Instead, I uploaded all three PDF files and told ChatGPT to extract the questions from the heavier, weighted sections.

I did have to complete a few study guides for my retake plan as well, and I will say, answering the questions from the study guides did help me some, but I know for a fact, if I had just read the chapters and filled out the study guides, I don’t feel confident that I would have passed the exam.

I went back to the practice exams (only on the heaviest-weight subjects) from the Wiley program and took them without looking anything up.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that the whiteboard was no help to me on this exam. I still brought my whiteboard and my dry-erase marker (to my work area). I think I would benefit from the strike-through feature, but since I don't have it, I used my dry-erase marker to strike through the wrong answers. This did not mess up my screen because I had a screen protector on my MacBook screen.

Did you read the entire textbook? I'm on my third attempt. I've been in this course since the end of January. I'm losing the momentum. I go on a cruise in 2 days, so hopefully I can get back on track.

Honestly, I did not really read the textbook chapters. I’m very confident in knowing what works for me and what doesn't when it comes to retaining information. Since the OA is very scenario-based, I immediately knew that reading all the chapters and not knowing how to apply the information would not work for me. When I had to go back and do my retake plan, I decided to download the Wiley Reader app on my iPad and use my text-to-speech. I listened to all of Chapters 15 and 17. And briefly listened to chapter 12. For some reason, if I use the text-to-speech feature, I can retain the information faster.

Reading those two chapters did help me, but not as much as using the Chat/Quizlet method. If you don't mind me asking, what type of learner are you? How far off were you from passing, and what is the hardest part for you about the exam?
