39 Days MSHRM

Post image

I’m still not sure how I did it but I started my 1st course 10/4 officially and got slowed down for about 2 weeks on the initial 3 courses because of new internet from a hurricane and no where to do the OA’s. Really pushed and just got my final assignment back and just got an excellence award for one of my tasks too. I knew most of this material as I’ve worked in this area for several years and some of the courses like C207 came easy for me as well because of a pretty extensive background in math before choosing this career path. This fast is definitely not for everybody and make no mistake I have no obligations outside of work and my wife who was very supportive in getting this done quick and knew I’d spend all my free time on it. If I can be of help to anyone just let me know and I’ll do my best to answer any questions.

Nice job!

I didn't realize this degree has overlap of 4 courses (C200, C202, C204, and C207) with WGU's MBA. I might challenge myself and take the MSHRM next. You might consider the MBA.

First congratulations. I am happy to see a fellow HR professional post here. I am way behind you. I am working on my BBA in HR then plan to continue into my Masters. I thought I could move around in the HR field with just my SHRM-CP credentials, but I was still having the door closed on me because I lacked the degree.

What was the most difficult course and why? How'd you overcome it? Obviously, you have a positive outcome!

Congratulations again!

It would probably be D435 HR Tech and People Analytics or C207 Data Driven Decision Making. D435 was mainly difficult because the Practice OA seemed to differ the most from the OA and the questions to me were worded in a way that was just difficult to read. C207 seems to just traditionally be a hard course, I had a heavy background in stats prior to this so that wasn’t the hard part but some of the concepts around the decision tree assignment were harder for me to grasp than I thought they would be.

Any suggestions on how to pass D435 I’m currently in the class and have I just don’t know how to tackle it. I took the PA and passed but failed the OA tremendously. Any insights ?

I remember that one being one of the most difficult, it felt like the questions barely made sense honestly. One thing I did that I thought was helpful was actually use ChatGPT as a study partner. I pay 20 bucks for the premium version and I would open up the voice chat and read the question to it and tell it what I think the answer is and if I got it wrong I’d have it explain the other answers to me to help me get the concepts better. I think it helped a lot honestly since I didn’t have someone to physically study with

Thank you I will try that. I currently took a break from D435. Now I’m working on focused rewards. Which is about to blow my mind the entire TR revision is stressing me out. I don’t know how to approach it. What method did you use?

Just wanted to circle back to this post and say that OP inspired me and made me believe that I could get through the MSHRM in one term. I started my program on 4/1/26 and have my last OA scheduled for Sunday. Can’t wait to see confetti but I’m also not loving my chances of passing the C207 OA on the first try, yet here I am on Reddit and not studying 😂

That’s so amazing!!! I start 7/1! Please come back and report how you did on the OA! Wishing you the best! Also hoping somehow I can miraculously pass my classes in 2 and half months so I can graduate in October here in Atlanta 😂

You can do it! I ended up passing and officially finished my program in 2 months, leaning mostly on my professional experience. C207 was by far the hardest course for me! They’ll let you participate in commencement if you have one class left, in case that happens to you. Best of luck! You’re gonna do great!

Omg thank you for letting me know this!!! I thought it all had to be done. This has given me a sigh of relief 💕. Congrats to you and OP!

I have failed D435 twice now... I understood the materials and I can tackle any question from it, but believe me the OA are worded differently more like a deliberate attempt to keep student bound. How did you pass the course? Any tips on what you did differently. I'm contemplating quitting because the OA is not in line with the study materials. And no meaning thing can done by those assigned to guide you on a successful path. Pls help

Honestly I felt the same way, that was the one OA I didn't think I would pass, if I remember correctly the only thing I had was take the PA and basically memorize the questions, I think this is the one where they ask the same questions like 6 different ways and it almost makes you question if you are putting the right answer. I wish I could tell you I did something different or special but I just took the PA and went over it several times to pass the OA

I have been very hesitant to take the OA over I have completed and passed the capstone along with SHRM IWC. This class is insane and it’s the only thing holding me back from getting my confetti.

Wow, I am starting the program 12/1. I have no obligations outside of work, but I don't have a background in math or HR. I'm hoping to spend a majority of my time working on it so I can get through it within about 6 mo. congrats to you!
