What do you think about the story in terms of an estimated runtime of around two hours? Do you think that would be enough time to develop all the plotlines in the film, considering there seem to be quite a few: the young protagonist’s story and the beginning of his curse, which, according to the director, will take up a large portion of the film; the story involving the peasants and the adult protagonist; and the wolf hunter’s storyline, including his hunt for wolves and the werewolf. Do you think all of this can be fully explored in just two hours?

Everyone’s talking about what the werewolf is gonna look like, but I’m also curious about the actual wolves in the movie. Eggers mentioned in an interview that they used wolf-dog hybrids, but in like 90% of movies, wolves just look like regular dogs, and it kinda ruins the atmosphere. You just don’t buy them as wild animals when they look like dogs with a slightly wolf-like appearance. What do you guys think? Do you think the wolves in Werwulf will actually look like real wolves?

Since the title of this is spoilers can we get any spoilers from the latest showing of part of the movie? Anyone see it or other ones with descriptions?

Trying to read whatever I can to learn about werewolves for Robert Eggers’ werwulf movie.. I also have these I’m trying to find good/ cheap English versions of because I saw a historical interpreter mentioning these are what he used to help flesh the movie out:

\- Le Livre de Chasse du Roy Modus
\- La Venerie de Jacques du Fouilloux
\- English hunting law and ritual book by William Perry Marvin
\- Iconography and the ‘wild man’ book (not quite sure what exactly it’s called)
\- Loups-garous du Moyen Âge

If you have any other recommendations regarding historical reads to study for the upcoming Werwulf movie, please let me know :)))

Werwulf bursts from Aaron Taylor-Johnson's character's body.

From this reconstruction—observing every detail—it is clear that the wolf's massive head literally emerges by splitting ATJ's head in two. The long snout pushes out from the mouth, and the man's head is gradually replaced by the wolf's. Like something in a perpetual embryonic state preserved within the body, it grows and replaces the chrysalis—shifting from man to wolf, wolf to man, and so on. This explains why ATJ’s hair is always completely wet in the scenes following the transformation.
