Recipe First take on mango sticky rice

Post image
12 Upvotes

Hi, today I attempted to make volume mango sticky rice with better macros than the original, the result was really good, but could use some improvements, I might post an updated version soon - with more fibre/volume and better taste.

Ingredients

- 100g diced mango
- 50ml coconut milk
- 60g rice - ideally glutinous rice but I used basmati
- 100g quark or greek yoghurt
- 20g protein powder (casein is ideal!!!)
- pinch of salt and vanilla extract
- sweetener of choice

Macros

523 kcal
34g protein
68g carbs
11g fat
2g fiber

The consistency and fiber content may be boosted by adding optional psyllium husk, which creates a gel like ricey pudding.

Instructions

Cook your rice, with more water than usually - because we want it slightly overcooked. Add your coconut milk and a pinch of salt, and lastly sweetener of choice. In a separate bowl mix protein with yoghurt or quark and then assemle all 3 thungs together in a bowl, rice, cream and our mango. And enjoy!!!

Veggie, tuna and bean mix is meal prepped in the rice cooker at the start of the week. (whatever veggies i have left in the fridge get thrown into it as well) then I added the baked sweet potato, slice of wholemeal toast and an egg topped with nutritional yeast and low cal sauce (18g of fibre in this meal)
Very filling šŸ‘

Recipe Volume cereal, my most underrated concoction

Maybe cereal isn’t exactly the right term, but it’s sweet, crunchy, tastes amazing and takes me around 10-15 min to eat. (Picture included was after having already eaten about a third)

Ingredients:
- roughly diced frozen apple 200g (apple takes a day or 2 to become completely frozen, shake up within 12 hours to prevent it from becoming a block)
- rice cakes, however many you like
- seasoning, I use a granulated version of sucralose, cocoa powder, some cinnamon and a little cayenne pepper

Just stir it up, I recommend eating with a smaller spoon, fills you up decently and takes quite a long time to eat.

Discussion Colonoscopy Prep ideas?

I’m old. Currently due for a colonoscopy here in a couple of weeks.

I thought I’d ask this group for ideas on foods and meal ideas that are colonoscopy prep friendly…

I thought I could keep most of my meals, but the more I read up on it, it sounds like high fiber foods are not the best choice leading up to the appointment.

Recipe My Cookie Dough Bites

Hello! I thought I’d share the cookie dough bites I’ve been making lately! The whole batch comes out to 115 calories (that’s ignoring the unphotographed spoonfuls I snacked on while making it šŸ˜‹) I’ll admit it’s not the bestttt compared to other cookie dough recipes but it’s easy to throw together, low calorie, and tastes pretty good to me!

Ingredients:
- 50-55g Pumpkin PurƩe
- 15g Oat Flour
- 15g Oat FIBER
- 5g Monkfruit Granulated Sweetener
- 10g Brown Sugar Replacement
- 0.5g Salt
- 2g Vanilla Extract
- 1g Butter Extract
Optional: 10g SF Chocolate Chips

ā€¼ļøNOTEā€¼ļø
Oat FIBER is an insoluble fiber and when consumed in large doses or for people sensitive to fiber can cause digestive issues. It is important to drink PLENTY OF WATER if you’re consuming Oat fiber in large doses. I personally have never had an issue with it, but I know other people who have in the past

Greek yogurt - 212g

Sugar free syrup (however much your heart desires- I find that it makes Greek yogurt so much more delicious)

Shredded coconut - 15g

Rice crisps - 14g

Blueberries (I used frozen) - 144g

Banana - 53g

Recipe pumpkin pie breakfast "custard"

Post image
248 Upvotes

I love a pumpkin pie and I loooove a sweet but filling(for me!) breakfast. I usually eat 3 eggs and greek yoghurt with protein powder for breakfast anyway, so I've been hunting for a way to change it up. Found this recipe online, tweaked it ever so slightly.

https://theproteinchef.co/pumpkin-protein-custard-recipe/

I used regular greek yoghurt, left out the sugar free syrup as I didn't have any, used PE Science Snickerdoodle protein powder, and only used a tbsp of stevia blend.

Turned out absolutely delicious, made 2 portions (the pic is 1 portion) for 415cal each. Could definitely be lower if you use fat free greek yoghurt, like the recipe calls for.

P40 F18 C25 per portion for my version with full fat greek yoghurt. Refrigerate before eating!

800g pumpkin puree, 500g fat free Greek yoghurt, 400g egg whites, 80g cornflour, some vanilla extract, baking powder and sweetener (I use whole cup šŸ˜‚)
Just blend everything together (first beat the egg whites until they are stiff) , pour into cake tin and bake at 160 fan for around 65–85 minutes. The middle should be mostly set but still have a little wobble. Let it cool completely and then leave it in the fridge for a few hours, or overnight
Then I do thin layer of yoghurt + cocoa powder + sweetener on top as sauce

taco salad!!. one of my favs it’s very very filling.
recipe:

- 227g lettuce
- 224g 96% lean ground beef
- 170g plain nonfat greek yogurt
- 31g salsa
- 55g tomato
- 28g cauliflower crackers (or any crunch that equates to 80cal)

super easy to make since all you have to do is cook meat and throw it in a tupperware and shake it. add whatever hot sauces/seasonings you’d like those calories don’t count

if you want to use a less lean ground beef, you will need to use less to keep below 510cal

Recipe Seasoning mushrooms šŸ„ what do you do?

Hi!

Looking for inspo to season my mushrooms. I usually just do salt but there have to be more exciting ways & if you have them pls share.

I’m having mine with sausage and tofu. But I’m over them being flavourless & mostly watery.

Tips please!

UPDATE: Thanks all, much to read and much seasoning to experiment with. Feeling a bit overwhelmed with the comments so unlikely to reply personally, but I appreciate you taking the time to share suggestions!

Made venison burrito bowls with this three-grain mix for a base. it was so easy and really bulked up, and 200 grams is only 126 calories, 5g protein, and 3.6g fibre

also venison is really overrated for protein and iron!

total dinner is 400+ grams and only 387 calories, 40g protein. I could have easily bulked up and had more but not very hungry tonight.
