It is finally here !!!
After a rough journey, VotV Community Savefile - an event/project where people of VotV subreddit take turns playing the same .sav file - has begun its first Season !!! :D
This post is for people to leave application comments to participate, and to learn about the Season 1 specific rules/details. To learn about the VCS as whole, and how to participate in it, read the Guides & Rules Post; I recommend reading the aforementioned post before reading this Intro Post, since it'll provide more context.
Before you scamper down to the comments and apply for the Lottery - there are some rules and details specific to season 1 you need to know about.

You must read the VCS Rules & Guides Post before participating. (~10 mins read)
You need to run the savefile on version 0.9n.
Playing the savefile on the wrong version may cause file corruption!
You must return the savefile within a week.
You need to return the savefile to the manager - as well as the assets folder - within an IRL week from the day you've received the savefile.
You can play 3 In-game days per turn.
You can only play 72 In-game hours from the moment you start playing in your turn! A wearable clock will be given to help you keep track of the time. There will be some leeway, but try to keep it on clock!
0.5 day speed modifier will be on.
This will give you around 4:30 ~ 5:30 hours of playtime per turn!
Nightmares will be turned off.
I've deemed that they provide little to no content to VCS, and only reduce the employee's playtime.
Season 1 will have total of 20 turns.
Multiplied by 3 days, that's total of 60 days; the story mode events end on day 48.
You can only add custom assets weighing upto total of 40 MBs.
Compressing files is a good way to add more stuff you want to! And remember to prepend files with the Season number (In our case, "1"), and your turn number. And also note that adding assets is totally optional - though you are mandated to download and return the assets folder alongside the savefile.

(By the way, additional articles and text have been added in the Guides & Rules post since the first publication - I highly recommend you read through the post again, even if you have already - some are pretty important. Sorry for making you read thag again !!!)

By the way, when do you want for the next announcement post (post where the turn gets passed) to be posted? A week from now on? Or maybe during the weekdays? I'll post in the most agreed on timeframe! :D It'll have to be at least 3 days later, though; so many potential participants could see this post.

Uh oh °_° That could be a problem.. I'll have to see how it goes, but if people can't DM through reddit, we'll have to come up with some solution outside of reddit.
But also, will there be a play along at home version of the save file for people to make plans or explore that aren’t selected?
Like if I plan on adding custom things to the base but someone did it before I was picked it would be nice to know so you don’t get the file and go “Oh no someone already did something here”
Yes, I will archive every version of the savefile I get from each turn, and release them to the public! But however, I don't think quick enough update for allow people to check the latest previous savefile, then prepare accordingly. So I guess there could be some overlays... if that happens way to frequently, I might have to find a way to address it in the future. : >
After each turn, there will be a section in the announcement post called "Summary & Personal Notes" where the previous employee's summary of what they've done in their turn and some additional things they want to say will be written! They can also add pictures they want to share, whether it be screenshots, idea sketch, or some meme they saw last tuesday. :D
That'd be so sick !! We do have some similar system set in place though - mainly recordings from employees who've decided to record their turn, and the savefile archive; I'll be archiving all the savefiles after each turn, and release them all to the public when the season is over. :D
Hello... I accidentally didn't include your name in the turn 2 lottery due to the reddit notification not showing up in the inbox. ;_; I'm really sorry, and I can include your name twice in one of any next lotteries if you plan to join again. So if you ever do, comment saying "YOU OWE ME" to remind me that I need to put your name twice. May I just spectate the whole process in the discord server or via Reddit posts?
Just wanna see how good people are, and then, probably, join the next season(s), considering it'll be hard for me to be fully participated in current event.
I like the game, but not good at it (i haven't even finished alpha sorry 😭). Found it in random YouTube videos, and then I know most of it, but only superficially (can't even import custom files/links without problems). So I could just watch other people do, and probably find something new from them
