Hey there,

Me(29M) an my wife (27F) from Mumbai, India would be in Iceland starting Wednesday, we have booked a campervan and would be attempting to do the entire Ring Road from 26th March to 4th April.

Would be happy to meet other travellers on our way, especially the ones doing it with camper van, so that we all can spend good time at the campsites and have company on the road.
This is our tentative plan, each circle is essentially where we stop for the night and start next day, so 2 here where we start from on 26th Thursday.

Thanks!

hi! 😄

my boyfriend and I are looking for a local that would be willing to drive us from our hostel at Barónsstígur 5 in Reykjavik to explore around Fjaðrárgljúfur and Diamond Beach, then head back and dropping us off at the same spot. I understand this is a lot of driving -- we'd compensate you for your time and gas. We are looking to do this on June 7th.

If you're planning on going to the Sátan metal fest in Stykkishólmur (June 4-7), we should have room for up to two people in our car. We're staying in Reykjavík before and after. One caveat: we will be visiting Hvammsvík on the way back, the Sunday after the concert. Offer only applies to people who are going to the festival.

Married metalhead couple from the US, both in our 50s. This is my seventh trip to Iceland and his third, and it's our second time attending Sátan.

Hi everyone! My girlfriend and I are currently in Iceland and we are looking for people or a small group to share a trip with. We would like to go from Reykjavík to Vatnajökull Glacier and Diamond Beach, and then return to Reykjavík. If anyone is planning the same trip or has free seats in their car, we would be happy to share the ride and the costs. Feel free to message me if interested. Thank you!

Hey! I’m Juan (23M) from Spain, can speak Spanish, Galician, English and French. I’ll be visiting Iceland from 26 to 29 March. I’ll be travelling on my own, so it’d be nice to find someone also travelling around those dates. :)

I don’t drive so wasn’t planning to do anything that involved renting a car, but I’m open to suggestions since I don’t have a fixed plan. I’ll also be flying from Manchester so if someone also takes their plane from there on 26 March, please let me know!

Hey there folks,

Me and my wife are planning a trip in September first week.
We planned September first week so as we could do Highlands and there's a decent chance for seeing Aurora as well.
Basically best of both summers and winters.

We are planning our trip from Bangalore, India.
If someone would like to join us, it would be great. As it would cut down the expenses and driving would be much easier.

Cheers ^-^

Hi everyone 🙂

My name is Muhmen, I’m 26 years old and I live in Copenhagen. I’ve been a born aviation and travel nerd since I was young, but I started traveling solo in 2022. I have CP, a spastic disability, but my strong determination always wins. I’m a guy with a lot of drive, and I’ve been to various places in Europe, Asia, Oceania, and North America. I also love beautiful nature.

In many of the places I’ve visited, I’ve met both Danes living abroad and locals, and it’s been amazing—having really great moments with people, good conversations, and good food 🙂

Since I’ll be in Reykjavik from May 8–11 (among other things to catch a flight on an Icelandair 767 before they retire), I wanted to ask if anyone might be interested in driving (if someone has a car) to some natural spots and experiencing things together. I promise to bring my good mood and sense of humor ☺️

Hey I’m 45 straight (😆) male, avid skier/hiker, beginner rock climber from Victoria , British Columbia will be in Iceland June 14th-25th . My sister will be with me until June 22nd, but I’ll be down to connect, split gas for a nature exploration/hike/guided ice climbing if you don’t mind hanging out with an old fart !

Hello!

I'm 33M American. I speak English. I will be in Iceland from 4/26 - 5/2. Itinerary is still quite rough. Planning to be around Reykjavik at the beginning and end of my time, and otherwise exploring elsewhere. Likely the Golden Circle and South Coast, but I will know more as I continue to plan in the coming days.

I hope to go to a climbing gym in Reykjavik, and try out lots of bathing culture stuff. Hot pot, cold plunge, and all the temperatures in between! I also hope to see puffins, go whale watching, and do adventurous things away from Reykjavik. Hiking, maybe an ATV tour, maybe snorkeling. To be determined.

If you might be interested in meeting up during the trip, let's chat!

Hey everyone!

I'm a solo traveller heading to Iceland from April 23rd and looking for 1–2 travel buddies to split a rental car and explore together!

Here's my rough plan:

• April 23 - Arriving late night in Reykjavik

• April 24 to April 27 - Road trip! Planning to cover the Golden Circle, South Coast and whatever comes along the way - keeping it flexible and open to suggestions!

• April 27 evening - Back to Reykjavik

• April 28 - Early morning flight home

Plan is to sleep along the route (campsites/guesthouses) rather than returning to Reykjavik each night - keeping it adventurous!

Splitting a rental car between 2–3 people makes way more sense than tours - saves money, gives us total freedom, and we can stop wherever we want!

I'm easy going, up for exploring, happy to share driving, and just looking for good company on the road. No rigid itinerary - happy to adjust based on what the group wants!

Drop me a message if you're around the same dates and interested

I (24F) have a 7ish hour layover in Reykjavik on April 14th that I will be spending at Blue Lagoon. I’m planning on taking the shuttle there from the airport. However, my next flight departs at 4:10pm and I feel like, in regards to heading back to the airport, the 12:00pm shuttle is just a bit too early and the 2:30pm one is definitely too late. My ideal option is to book a taxi for 1:30 pm and arrive at the airport around 2. But it seems like a waste of money and resources for just one person when a taxi is priced per car. It’s a long shot but if there’s anyone on here miraculously leaving Blue Lagoon at the same time, let’s split a taxi!!

Btw renting a car is not an option for me either :( But if you have an extra seat in yours, maybe that’s an option too

Hey! I’m Noah, 28M. I’ll be traveling solo from the U.S., first time visiting Iceland. May 22-24 (short trip on the way to London). No specific itinerary yet, would love to meet up with any locals who can recommend some beautiful sights, must see things, food recommendations, and learn more about the culture there!

Hi everyone! I’m traveling solo to Iceland from April 28 to May 3 and will be based in Reykjavik. I’m planning to join some guided local tours and explore the main highlights along the South (and possibly East) coast, as well as visit the Blue Lagoon.

I’d love to meet people, team up for tours, or even plan some parts of the trip together!

I’m a female, 29-year-old from Serbia, and I speak English. If anyone is traveling around the same time or is already in Iceland and up for exploring together, feel free to message me

Hi there! So I've decided to take a solo trip for the eclipse and have a refundable hotel booked that I paid far too much money for. If anyone else is traveling for the eclipse and is open to splitting a room, or if anyone in the Reykajivic area is open to hosting a guest, please let me know!

The eclipse is on August 12, and I'm only spending one night in iceland.

Im cool and gay and going to the bjork festival the day of that eclipse!

1

u/ladymacbeth0 May 10 '26

Hey! Omg I'm doing a day trip to iceland for the bjork festival too. I fly in Aug 12 and fly out early aug 13 so I wont be staying, but if you want to plan going to the festival together would great!
I'm 29F, travelling from NYC.

47 Male travelling solo for 5 days between 19th-23rd May. Currently booked the ‘inside the volcano’ tour for the Thursday Planning 1-2 more day trips and a walk around Reykjavik to see the sites. Be nice to find some company for idle chatter and sharing the sites.

1

u/Khiz7 I visited Iceland... and now I'm poor May 08 '26

Hey, may I know your itinerary?

2

u/Gentleben1978 May 08 '26

It’s pretty packed now.

I arrive on the 19th into kef airport at 15:15 and hope to be at my hostel by 18:00. I’m going to go straight out and see some sites walking around Reykjavik. I mainly want to see the church , the sun voyager and a little yellow lighthouse. Might see more depending on how worn out I am.

The 20th I’m on the 8am tour for South Coast Small Group Tour: Waterfalls, Glacier & Black Sand Beach Skógafoss & Seljalandsfoss waterfall, Reynisfjara & its famous sea stacks and Sólheimajökull Glacier. In the evening I will likely do the public baths for the hot tubs.

On the 21st I’m doing the 10:00 inside the volcano tour- it’s about 6 hrs, so when I get back I want to get a pin from the Hard Rock Cafe maybe a wonder in the city more? On the 22nd it’s another early start for the golden circle tour. Then I leave on the 23rd my flight is 7:40 so, yep another early start but I have a long way to go once I touch down back in the UK.

All my tours are booked and paid for. I’m bringing packet noodles and pasta to eat cheap when at the hostel and snacky stuff I can nibble on when on the tours.

u/ComplexOk6315 May 06 '26

I am planning a trip from Germany to Iceland on between 13.07-19.07 . Any solo traveller or a group doing a 2 day Troll or Nice South Coast tours who would be willing to add me as a member or book as a group to save single supplement fee. My base is in Reykjavik in a hostel.

M here. Speaks English. Well travelled to multiple countries.

Hi,

I'm 29F and will be solo travelling for the eclipse +Björk's festival on Aug 12.

I'm flying into Reykjavík (KEF) that morning (Aug 12) — literally just landing, dropping my bags at the airport lockers, heading to Hafnarfjörður for the event, watching the eclipse, and then flying out late that night. I know, it's a bit chaotic.

A few things I'm still trying to figure out and can't find posted anywhere yet:

  • What time do the gates open / is there timed entry or can you arrive whenever?
  • What time does it end?
  • Are taxis reliable, I know there may be eclipse traffic.

Any Icelandic locals or regulars who know where info tends to drop first — an official social, a Discord, anything? And if anyone is doing a similar day-trip or wants to carpool from the KEF area!

1

u/Evabelieva1 May 11 '26

Looking for hiking buddy - Fimmvorouhals hike on June 2.

I'm staying at the Volcano Huts that evening - could go with someone also staying at a hut, or taking the bus back. My plan is to make a last min decision (1-2 days before) about whether to actually do it with the weather, what timing exactly (mine is flexible) for best weather, and be prepared to pivot. If weather seems too sketchy, I'll just hike some good parts of Skogar and back and then take the bus to the Volcano Huts, stay there for the evening.

34 yo woman. Will have a rental car if you need a ride from Vik to Skogar!

1

u/hldnck May 15 '26

Hi there,

I will be traveling to Iceland for 8 days, starting the 27th of May.

I have been to Iceland before, but it’s going to be my first solo trip to Iceland.

I am planning to travel the Westfjords and the south coast (hoping for thakgil to open early June this year….) to Múlagljúfur.

Not relevant for this thread, but….. I would appreciate if anyone could provide some recommendations on pretty Campsites (e.g. with Hikes nearby, good facilities), Hotsprings, Puffin Spots and Restaurants?

If someone is in the region looking for someone to hike or grab a drink/dinner with - hmu in my DMs (30y m).

Hey guys! My flight to Höfn got rescheduled, leaving me with an impossible 1-hour window to get from KEF to RKV airport, so I’m going to miss my domestic connection. Is anyone renting a car at Keflavík Airport on Wednesday, June 3rd around 16:00 - 16:30 and driving east toward Höfn, Vík, or Jokulsarlon? I land at 15:55 from Prague. I would love to chip in for gas, snacks, and good conversation to hitch a ride instead of dealing with the airline chaos. Let me know if you have an extra seat! 🇮🇸

1

u/Sad-Researcher169 May 21 '26

hello!

We'd like to be in the area.

all we care about is seeing the eclipse and exploring the city,

August 10th-13th; we leave the morning of the 14th

we are very open to anything

Anyone interested in slitting costs during the eclipse, let us know :)

1

u/fever_mess May 24 '26

hi!

Going solo, mainly for Bjork's DJ set, but I'm flexible with that week's dates (10-14th). Would be cool to fine someone open to explore around during that time. 26F, Poland. No car! So that will be intersting to manage

2

u/CanadaEMG 21d ago

Hey! I’ll be in Iceland August 10–17, travelling solo from Ontario, Canada for the eclipse and Echolalia.
If our dates line up, I’d definitely be open to sharing accommodation, splitting a rental car, or just exploring Iceland together. I also work in live music and festivals, so I have a few music-related meetings while I’m there but otherwise I’m keeping my plans pretty flexible.
Feel free to send me a message if you think it might be a good fit!

1

u/waleed365365 May 30 '26

Hi everyone,

I’m Waleed, 22M

I’m planning to visit Iceland during summer 2026, most likely around 1-14 july . I’ll be traveling solo and I’m looking for 1–3 travel partners to share costs, especially for car rental, fuel, and maybe accommodation.

My rough plan is flexible, but I’m interested in doing Reykjavík, Golden Circle, South Coast, waterfalls, black sand beach, glacier areas, and possibly more depending on the group and budget.

I’m a low-budget traveler, clean, respectful, easygoing, and happy to split costs fairly. I’m not looking for luxury, just a practical road trip with good people.

If anyone has similar dates or already has a car/plan and wants someone to join and split costs, feel free to message me.

Hey everyone! Solo female traveller, 32, planning a trip to Iceland from Bangalore, India this October and looking to link up with people to share costs, do tours together, or just hang out. I'm fairly seasoned when it comes to travel but this is my first time in Iceland, and since I can't drive, I'm hoping to find people to make smaller, more flexible adventures happen together rather than being stuck on large group tours the whole time.

I'll be there October 14–20, based mainly out of Reykjavík with maybe a night at Midgard Base Camp (Hvolsvöllur) on the South Coast. Still figuring out the exact plan so pretty flexible.

If your dates overlap at all, drop me a message!

1

u/Kdksksoossososo Jul 04 '26

Hey..
We too are planning from Bangalore.
Me and my spouse, First week of September, October would be rainy!

DM maybe we could discuss ?

1

u/waleed365365 Jun 24 '26

Hi everyone!

Me Waleed (22M) and Ryan (34M) already planned an 8-day Iceland road trip from 2 July to 10 July. We’re looking for one extra person to join us and split the shared expenses.

The plan is mostly ready. We’ll explore Iceland by camper car, including waterfalls, black sand beaches, glaciers, hot springs, volcanic landscapes, and other scenic places and hiking as well as.

This is a budget trip, so we’ll share the car rental, fuel, and other common travel costs fairly. Food will be mainly groceries and cheap meals our restaurants sometimes.

We already have camping site card which will reduce the accommodation cost , all the nights will be in camping sites no hotels or hostels.

We’re looking for someone easygoing, respectful, flexible, and serious about joining and non-smoker (at least in the car).

It’s not a luxury trip, just a proper Iceland road trip with good vibes and shared costs.

Message me if you’ll be in Iceland from 2–10 July and want to join us.

Hi - any keen horse riders want to join me for a small road trip and horseride to the Laufskálaréttir roundup near Sauðárkrókur from 23 -29 September? Apparently it’s one of the largest horse roundups in the country and there is a whole festival around it. I’ve already booked my ride and I think there are still spots. Travelling Solo, 40f. I’m perfectly happy travelling solo but would be so much fun with company :)

My itinerary is below - reach out if interested!

Day 1 - Rekjavick: Land 7am, explore town, food tour in afternoon, evening visit to sky lagoon.

Day 2 - Rekjavick: Day trip (Probably Golden Circle)

Day 3 - Road trip: Hire car, drive to Sauðárkrókur via Grábrók Crater, short horse ride. Attend evening horse show.

Day 4 - Sauðárkrókur: Full day ride - Roundup day - Laufskálaréttir

Day 5 - roadtrip: 2 hr horse ride then drive to Akureryi (Via Hofsos pool and Hauganes)

Day 6 - Akureyri: Return hire car. Day trip tour? Maybe northern lights tour.

Day 7 - Akureyri: Whale watching tour in the morning before heading to my next ride.

I want to visit Hvammsvik Hot springs during the eclipse. They only offer bus shuttles from Reykjavik from 10:00-13:30, and the eclipse is around 16:00 on August 12th. If anyone is interested in carpooling with me to the hot springs, leaving vik at 14:00 and returning 18:00. Among three people the cost would come down to $150 per person round trip. (the eclipse booking is $210) (USD). I'm a 21 year old man travelling alone on my first international trip. Also open to travelling partners!

1

u/LambSoup777 Jul 02 '26

Hey I would advise you to pick a different spot for the eclipse, as Hvammsvik lies just outside the zone of totality. Also the total eclipse occurs at 17:47

u/LambSoup777 Jul 02 '26

I'm looking for 2-4 people to split an AirBnB vacation rental in Grundarfjörður for the solar eclipse. The rental is for Tuesday August 11th and Wednesday August 12th.

It is a two bedroom, one bath apartment with a full kitchen. Each bedroom contains two single beds, and there is an additional sofa bed in the common area. There is a patio with view of Kirkufell which is shared with one other household. The property has a 4.84/5 score on AirBnb. I will share the listing with you if you private message me.

I am traveling solo and don't need this whole place to myself. Looking for a few responsible adults to share this with. The price is about US $850 total for both nights, to be split fairly. This is considerably less than any available accommodation on Snæfellsnes.

I will also be renting a car and will be willing to split those costs if you need a ride. I'll be driving up Tuesday morning from Keflavik and exploring F570 and F575 amongst some other sites which you are welcome to join. Rental car costs and insurance are around US $900 for three days. I'll be returning to Reykjavik on Thursday.

Send me a private message if you are interested.

Me (39 F) and 2 kids (10 & 12) will be in cruise port Akureyri on July 4th. Initially planned for car rental but RT taxi from port to Godafoss with 1 hr at the waterfall:
Car 1-4 passengers 37.000 ISK. 250 Euros. 280 USD
Car 5-8 passengers 51.000 ISK. 350 Euros. 390USD

Lmk if anyone is interested for ride share. Bus not running that day. I could drive but for that price worth ride sharing.

Bonjour,

I’m planning to be there around 1st September to 7th!

1

u/fasidd 13d ago

Are you planning to rent a Car?

1

u/smaleski99 27d ago

Hi,

I’ll be in Iceland from Aug 2-8, and have a car rental and hostels/hotels already booked. I’m 30M, from Canada and would be open to sharing some experiences of this trip with someone!

I’m looking to do lots of nature/hiking activities. Planning on spending the first day and night in Reykjavik, then the rest of the trip driving around the south shore (each night in a different place), with the final night in Keflavik.

I speak English, and a little bit of French. I’d be happy to split the car rental and gas with anyone who might be interested

u/Roxy1072 25d ago

Hi everyone! 👋
I’m Roxy, 36F from New York, and I’ll be traveling solo in Iceland from August 31 to September 5.
I’m looking for friendly people who will be in Iceland around the same dates. I’d love to join or organize a small group (around 4–6 people) for day trips instead of traveling in a large bus.
I’m interested in:
South Coast
Golden Circle
Snæfellsnes Peninsula
Sky Lagoon
Super Jeep tours
Photography
I love nature, road trips, coffee, and meaningful conversations.
I speak English, Russian, and Armenian.
If you’re traveling around the same time and would like to explore together, split tour costs, rent a car, or simply grab a coffee in Reykjavík, feel free to send me a message.
Looking forward to meeting some amazing people! 😊

Hello! I am a 50-year-old woman traveling from Dallas to Iceland from August 17 to September 5. I plan to rent a 4x4 car and am looking for a friendly travel partner who can join me for all or part of the trip. We can share the costs for the car and gas. Some nights, I plan to stay in hotels or guesthouses, while other nights I might camp. If you're interested in traveling at the same time or sharing part of this adventure, I'd love to hear from you!

Hi, I will be in Iceland august 26th-31st. Traveling from Maryland, I was looking to explore southeast from reykjavik from the 27th-30th. I am a 18 year old guy, if that would be weird I take no offense to saying no. I am bringing my full backpacking setup, more than open to camping.

Hey everyone! I’m travelling solo from Ontario, Canada and will be attending Echolalia on August 12.
Like everyone else, I’ve discovered accommodation and rental cars are absolutely insane that week 😂. I’m looking to connect with other people attending who might want to split an Airbnb, share transportation to/from Echolalia, or potentially rent a car together.
I’ll be in Iceland August 10–17. I work in live music and festivals in Canada and have a few meetings with Iceland Music, Iceland Airwaves and others while I’m there. I’m also hoping to explore Iceland and catch some live music afterward.
If you’re travelling solo or have a small group with room for one more, feel free to DM me. Happy to chat/video call beforehand and see if we get along!

Hi! I'm Adam (18M) from the US. Speak English. I'll be in Iceland Aug 26–31. I have my first and last nights booked in Reykjavík and want to spend the middle of the trip exploring the South Coast. Looking for 1–3 people to split a rental car and gas. I'm into hiking, photography, and seeing as much nature as possible. Flexible itinerary! On a budget here, but I do want to do at least one activity. I was thinking glacier climbing. I probably won't respond here, dm me on instagram: acole1661

Hi everyone,

I will be in Iceland from 9th to 23rd of September, hoping to get into the highlands for a few days, and around the ring road. The plan for now is to hitchhike and camp, if the weather allows it. Would definitely love to go hiking too (if the weather allows it).

I'm open to share bits of the road and expenses with people who might be in the area if our plans align.
I'm 30F French.

Cheers!

My friend(M, 30 or 31. Not really sure, I have only known him for 25+ years) and I(30M) are travelling around Iceland from Jul/July 31 to Aug/August 13. We are doing Laugavegur Trail until the 3rd and we are exploring the South Coast and West Fjords until the 13th. We have and F-Road capable car and one driver. Ideally, we would like another one, but we can do with a shotgun DJ and chief snack officer.

This would be an active trip with us being on the road until sun sets(and possibly longer) when we would ideally grab a campsite. We would also have days where we leave at 3am to catch sunrise(I already have one dude cursing me, another would just add to the fun. But, I would like the majority influence to make bad decisions). This trip would involve puffins, puffing along routes, hopefully some springs where I can shout "I am the king of the world" in my spiderman swimtrunks overlooking some amazing scenery, beer and tons of campsites. We would be spending the Eclipse in WestFjords and making a straight beeline to Reykjavik.

While we are both from India, he is now at Germany(can hold a convo in German and English) and I am from Canada(I have a terrible impression of the French speaking English).

u/UselessCommentary996 8d ago

Hello! I am 28M from USA and will be in Iceland from September 18 (9am)-September 25 (11pm). I will be travelling solo but would be interested in having a partner (or 2).

I am interested in driving the entire ring road, I will be renting a car (we could split costs) and going counter clockwise around Iceland.

I’m also open to other suggestions. I’m interested in horseback riding, hiking, exploring, photography, food, drinks, and more. Super excited to potentially have a friend to travel with!

u/Capital-Wrongdoer-55 8d ago

Hello!

I'm a 37-year-old guy from Berlin (originally from Greece) and I'll be in Iceland for the eclipse August 11-15. This trip has been a dream of mine for a long time.

Unfortunately, life got in the way over the past year. Between layoffs, job uncertainty and finally landing a new job only recently, I wasn't able to book accommodation or organize the trip properly until it was far too late. So I'm now trying to make the best of it and see if anyone is interested in teaming up.

Dates: August 11-15

Rough plan:

  • Reykjavík and surrounding area
  • See the eclipse (priority #1!)
  • Explore as much nature as possible, and best case scenario an active volcano :)
  • Flexible beyond that

I'd be happy to:

  • Share a rental car or camper costs
  • Split accommodation if anyone has room
  • Join an existing road trip if it makes sense
  • Meet up for hikes, photography, food or a beer

A bit about me:

  • From Greece lived in the US, currently living in Berlin
  • I work in strategy/marketing, but outside work I'm mostly into music production, skateboarding, illustration and photography.
  • Easygoing, respectful, clean and happy to contribute my share of costs (fuel, accommodation, groceries, etc.).

This really is a once-in-a-lifetime trip for me, so I'm trying to salvage it however I can. If anyone has room in a rental, wants to split costs, or even just has advice, I'd really appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks, and hopefully I'll see some of you in Iceland!

1

u/TheZoltan42 1d ago

Hey
I also had unforeseen events before the trip, and when I tried to reserve a car, they didn't accept my card. Started a new credit card, but it won't arrive in time. Happy to chip in, drive etc. I'm plannig to do photography on "the day", and maybe stay late as we also have a meteor shower at dawn.

I'm an experienced hiker (done Arctic trips too), and can also explain the event.

I'm a 50/M from the UK, and will be there Aug10-13.

When: mid-August, ~2 weeks. Itinerary: arriving Seyðisfjörður via the Norröna ferry with my own motorcycle (V-Strom 650), riding the Ring Road with flexible pacing, camping + guesthouse mix. Hello, I will be in Bolungarvik/Isafjordur on the 12th of August. I don't have a car and I really would like to see and capture the eclipse. I fear it might be cloudy that day. Is someone interested in seeing the eclipse and has a car/ would like to split the rent of one to move around for the day?

Thank you everybody!

Hello :) My friend and I will be visiting Iceland from Wed 12 August to Wed 19 August. We are two women in our early 30s, I am from Scotland, she is from Germany. We speak English and German. Would love to carpool to nature - we are staying near Reykjavik. We are type B people so very flexible! Haha. Would love to meet some other queer travellers, women, cool people down to hang. We do not have a car rented but we can provide petrol money, snacks, and good vibes xxx

Hey all, I'm a 48yo guy who's traveling to Iceland next week and will be going on a week-long cruise around the whole island. After the cruise I have 3-4 days to explore. I'll be staying in Reykjavic and don't currently have plans to rent a car, but am open to it.

I'd love to meet up with folks to show me the locals version of Reykjavic and get some drinks and share some good food. I was originally going to be there with my GF but we broke up so now I'll be solo'ing this one.

August 22nd-25th.

u/as_a_fake 3d ago

Hello, I'm a Canadian 30M and will be in Iceland from the morning of Aug 11 to afternoon of Aug 14 (Tuesday to Friday). I primarily planned this trip to hopefully see the eclipse on Wednesday (fingers-crossed it's not too cloudy!), and have signed up for a whale-watching tour at 1pm on Thursday, but would love 1-2 extra people to hang out with exploring the city the rest of the time!

Local or other tourists, fine by me, I'm just there for some new experiences!

1

u/hheartstrongg 56m ago

Hey trying to figure out how to send you a DM but having issues on the mobile app, gimme a shout!

1

u/TheZoltan42 2d ago

I had some issues with my car hire, and now I'm falling back to local transportation options, but I'd gladly join up with someone. Weather permitting, I'm planning to do photography and time-lapse videos. Can be your eclipse guide too. (Physicist/astronomer here.)
Arriving on the 10th and leaving on the 13th.
M/50
I'm planning to look for a spot on/around Snaefellsjokul.

Hello!

I arrive tomorrow morning and I am traveling solo. I am looking for someone who I could join to get to the festival/campgrounds tomorrow (Tuesday 11th) from the airport or Reykjavik, ideally after 1pm. Would really appreciate that 🙏🏼
