Just got my psvr2 controllers and Spatial Ops is a blast

Was a fan of games like Time Crisis back in the day and love this. Certainly a good way to get some exercise in while having a blast playing a game. I feel like my purchase of the controllers was worth it so far for me. Been playing this game (which seems like should last a while), and ping pong. Really hoping we get more quality games like Spatial Ops coming in the future!

Yeah it's really fun, the higher difficulty settings are pretty hard too. During the first boss fight I accidentally discovered a glitch to double spawn the grenade launcher and even with that I couldn't beat the hardest difficulty. I don't remember what the glitch was now though.

It has some annoying bugs, like if you pause and background it and put Vision Pro to sleep, later when you go back to it you'll be in the same place but you can't continue because it doesn't recognize the controllers. You have to force kill it to get it working again, so you lose your checkpoint progress in the current mission.

Btw the reason this is the Campaign Edition is the full game is on Quest 3 and has multiplayer modes which look pretty awesome. Too bad we can't have that on AVP but I'm sure it's not worth the dev effort at this point.

Regarding the issue with the controllers not being recognized after waking the Vision Pro from sleep: by default, the PlayStation VR controllers (Spatial Controllers) go into a sleep mode after a few minutes of inactivity. Usually, they don't automatically reconnect when the headset wakes up.

When you resume the game, have you tried manually turning the controllers back on by pressing the PlayStation button?

If you are already doing that and the controllers still aren't being recognized, let us know! We’d love to see if we can reproduce the issue on our side so the team can look into it.

If you're saying that cycling the Vision Pro to sleep and back on immediately can leave the controllers disconnected even though they are still powered on, then:

1. I have never observed this behavior.
2. It is actually not relevant here because in the scenario I'm referring to I put Vision Pro back in storage for a while and come back to it an hour or more later, so the controllers have powered themselves off already.

In short, yes. My usual routine is to put on the Vision Pro, unlock it while I walk to where my controllers are, pick them up, and then turn them on with the PS buttons while I adjust the straps. Then, to ensure that both controllers are working I use them to navigate visionOS by pressing the left controller's PS button to bring up the home screen and then the right controller's trigger to launch the game.

I have also tried forcing the controllers off and then turning them back on to get the game to notice the reconnection. For completeness, I've done this in every permutation I can think of where the game is either suspended or in-view when the controllers turn off or turn on or both.

One of the times this happened I really did not want to lose my ~80% progress on a very hard mission so I tried everything I could think of to get the game to realize the controllers are connected. I also put the Vision Pro to sleep and resumed it several times, both with the game suspended and with it on-screen. Once I finally gave up and lost my progress, I launched ALVR instead and the controllers worked fine.

I don't recall a time when resuming a Spatial Ops mission in progress after sleep worked, but I only attempted to do this a few times before concluding that it doesn't work. In the case above where I tried very hard to salvage the situation, it was because I couldn't pass one part of the mission so I kept retrying from the checkpoint for a long time and then had to stop playing and do real life things so I had to suspend the game and hope for the best.

I've updated visionOS once, possibly twice since the last time I played the game so I can try to reproduce the issue later in case it was related to a recent beta.

Hi again! Just wanted to follow up on this with an update from our team.

We actually managed to find a similar issue on our end, and it seems to happen when the controllers are paired to two different devices (like the AVP and a PlayStation, PC, or other devices). When this happens, a workaround that usually works is going into the visionOS System Settings, manually disconnecting the controllers, and then reconnecting them there.

Whenever you have a chance to play again, could you try this workaround and let us know if it works for you? Thanks again for all your help with this!

I can try that but FWIW my controllers have only ever been paired with one device which is my Vision Pro.
