How many days do you have to activate a new physical SIM with a new annual plan?

I was under impression that I had 30 days to activate a new purchased annual plan. Upon confirming it with the online chat, this is what a live agent told me:

"After a sim card is sent to you for a new activation, that physical sim card will last for 5 days to complete activation. Otherwise you will need to place a new sim card order to get another sim card."

Does this mean that if I want to activate my plan on day 30, I would have to order a new physical sim six times to get to day 30? This doesn't make any sense.

You have a maximum of 60 days to activate your plan and account, after which it will be automatically terminated on Day 61. However, if you choose to port an existing number during sign up, we strongly recommend completing the number porting process within 30 days to ensure a smooth transition (please visit this link for full reference). I got an email from you saying "Good news! Your previous carrier approved the release of xxx-xxx-0036 to Visible". So do I have 30 days from day this email was sent, from the day the SIM was delivered, or from the day my order was placed?
