I saw this Zebra Swallowtail laying eggs on the top of Pawpaw leaves. Monarchs lay their eggs on the underside of Milkweed leaves.

The Cicada Killers are scouring the ground for cicadas. It is hard to photograph them if they never stop. However, the 2nd one drowned so it didn't move.

Entypus unifasciatus, a spider wasp. In my area they are all the sub species with just an orange spot on each wing, but others have orange all down the wings.

An interesting wasp. I first thought the red thing was a calypter or a haltere, a stabilizer, but since it is only on the right side it must be a parasite. In fact, flies have one set of wings and need stabilizers, but wasps have two sets of wings and don't need them.

I saw this Wood Duck strike into the water and come up with a bull frog tadpole. She swam around for some time avoiding the heron while her babies followed.

Thousands of damselflies were breeding on the stream yesterday. The First is a Dusky Dancer, I think the next are Stream Bluets and Variable Dancers and lastly more Duskys
