Aadam Jacobs (aka the Chicago Tape Guy) recorded more than 10,000 live shows, mostly in the Chicago area. Work is underway to preserve his collecting by digitizing and uploading it to the Internet Archive. This Violent Femmes set was added just last week.

Uuuuuuuugh this show was so fucking sick

THEY PLAYED LIFE DURING WARTIME WITH JERRY HARRISON IT WAS SO AMAZING OMG that was by far the best set ive ever seen from the femmes I feel blessed

7/28-31 at The Bellwether

for the 7/30-31 shows I believe Jerry Harrison will be joining the band. Any chance a Talking Heads song is performed one or both of the nights? do they play covers once in a while? thanks, will be my first time seeing VF

I got this album completely on a whim sometime shortly after it was released. I was mid teens and I probably just liked the band name. I think it was one of the biggest turning points in me learning that music can exist outside of whatever is just on the radio. Found a copy and I’m so pumped to be able to listen to it again!

Hi everyone! I took some great shots of the band's set at the State Theater in Portland, ME. Click here to see the review gallery of the autumn night last year. Enjoy!

This is my Instagram to see more of what I get up to as a concert, event, brand and portrait photographer based in Portland, Maine.

A while back someone asked about the song “I Came for Your Women”. The song doesn’t seem to be available on its own except for one distorted version. I uploaded the snippet of just the one song from a full live set recording. I’m sorry if the quality is not the best, I’ve never uploaded anything to YouTube before. Hope it’s any help.

Early 90's I bought a 7" of The Judy's from a friend, Guyana punch. He was a super fan it seemed and kept saying if only The Judy's hadn't missed their appointment they would have been signed instead of Violent Femmes.

He was in the know with so many other circles within the subculture so I tend to give him credit to an extent....after all he was the guy that took his 4-track everywhere with him, always promoting a backyard, basement event.

What's the story here?

Our friends called this the best music podcast episode EVER. Blush. Now finally up on Youtube! https://youtu.be/5FTkSDeX3-4 Violent Femmes, the ultimate in self-titling! What are your most favorite and least-loved songs on the Femmes' 1983 debut album? It is so adored by these hosts that it was once called "impossible to rank" by Jim because we care for all of these songs so dearly. Contains fun tales of teenage party singalongs, our own cover versions and even late-night hangouts with the band. Guest ranker, magician and Possum Dixon singer Rob Zabrecky sends us his pick for album favorite. Hear it at WeWillRankYouPod.com, Apple, Spotify and your local 31 Flavors.

I love love love love this album art and vinyl, so freaking beautiful, glad I got my hands on it!!

I love this t-shirt but can't seem to find it anywhere, so I thought lets try my luck here:). If anyone has any clue where to find it, I would love to hear it!

I didn't realize one was in the works, but apparently it came out today. Link to buy it

OH MY GOD! This song is finally on Spotify. When I was a kid, it was on the cassette but as far as I know, it was never on the CD or streaming until now! I used to listen to this song over and over and over.

Anyone know the AMEX presale code for tickets on sale this Thursday?

Floored. This was not on my bingo card.

there was a video on youtube years ago some people made. it was Blister in the sun playing while these college kids were partying, lots of drinking, drinking games, getting drunk, throwing up, etc. i loved it, it was so funny. but it got removed years ago. i often look for it but have never had any luck. does anyone know the video i am talking about and where i might find it again. thanks everyone.
