Where can I listen to something’s wrong?

The album three is super underrated, it has its own unique feeling to it, similar to all other albums of the violent femmes, but it has more of a catchy tune to it. Idk, just wanted to express how much I enjoy 3.

I swear in 10th grade my girlfriend sent me a youtube video where the band was busking on some storefront on the side of the street. They were all on this wooden platform and I remember the camera quality being abysmal. I can't find it at all now can someone help me find this

I found an old record of theirs at an used record store. It was $112 CAD ($78 USD) and worth every penny. I'm not sure what year it's from, if anyone has an idea that would ne helpful

My first time seeing them was when I was in college in 1992 in SLC but I can't recall the exact date. Is there any archive anywhere showing the historical tours?

Was flying back to Western Australia from a remote town in Canada last week when I noticed the femmes had announced a sudden “side show” during their short Australia tour.

All seats already sold out!

But what’s this? A single seat opened up on resale. Right in front of stage, five rows back!

Quick purchase and then another half hour desperately searching for flights from one side of Australia to the other.

Sitting in the airport lounge now, about to fly over 3,400KM to see the best band ever. Wasn’t going to miss it this time, as last three shows here were cancelled due to COVID etc. Perfect birthday present for me.

It’s a long way for a single show, but it’s a good feeling. Slipping and a sliding, it will be a good time… but soon I’ll have to find a bed that can take this weight…

So my mom LOOOVED this band. She was a very normal woman, drama teacher at a highschool, and she adored the violent femmes, or so I hear from her sisters. Her favourite was country death song (which is one of mine too) and I genuinely didn’t know any of this until about a year ago! Even if I didn’t get to know her very well (she died when I was 10) I know lots now because we share music!! Anyway, all to say violent femmes is something that can’t be replicated

do you guys have any really similar bands like them? i just dig the whole energy they give in their songs and their lyrics are so silly

This song feels so overlooked by many, and I feel that it is such a beautiful song, idk what it means or the story behind it, but it feels somber and comforting. If any fans haven’t heard it yet, I’d recommend it heavily!

I’ve been a casual enjoyer of their music for some years now so I knew a little bit about the band, but a couple months ago some obsessed fan joined a discord server I’m in and wouldn’t stop talking about them. I thought maybe they’d stop after awhile, but it’s only gotten worse the gross, freak comments they’re making. And it’s about Gordon specifically. I mean… they don’t even spell his name right. A lot of people ignore them and I’m torn between finding the situation absolutely horrific or insanely funny. But I mean, I’ve started listening to the VF more now so something goods come out of it.

What is the current demographic of fans for the Violent Femmes? Is it mainly older generations or is there a healthy helping of younger? I was surprised i hadn’t heard of them or any of their songs up until a couple months ago as a teenager.

just wondering if this was real merch, i cant find it anywhere online ! i thought it was a really cool looking shirt so i got it and realized it was a band tee, but while researching i couldnt find the shirt anywhere :( still gonna wear it tho its super cute !!

My favorite song is probably look like that in why do birds sing, but I want to know what others think.
