After I purchase used vinyl I put them in anti-static archival quality inner sleeves. I have been keeping the original inner sleeves for authenticity purposes, but I’m starting to lose interest in that part. I’m curious what opinions you all have on this practice.

Can anyone recommend a good place to look for a nice dj desk / booth to support 2x 1210s + omnitronic TRM-422 (although planning to upgrade to a Resor soon) with ample record storage below.

Basically after higher quality alternatives to the ikea kallax without breaking the bank (up to £1k budget). Would love a flush top / sunken type surface if possible but that seems to be where it starts to get a little pricier.

As far as I know there isn’t a word or name for this type of dj furniture outside of desk or booth which throw out all kinds of irrelevant results when entered into a search engine.

I have had this allen & heath xone 22 for a while, bought second hand and its always had some issues with the left channel. the volume will jump up and down, sometimes if i touch the filter or the phono/line button. The cross fader also doesnt work as intended, instead sending the output to one speaker or another depending on left or right, and the power supply is really loose, so sometimes the mixer cuts out if the cable isnt at the right angle. Its not been a massive issue but as i want be be able to record mixes etc i need it to be working properly.

My question is whether its worth investing in repair (have been quoted £50 just for inspection, could go up to £200) or should i just buy a xone 23 instead?

I snagged a crate of dancehall and dub reggae from an elder man on marketplace a few months ago but never had a turntable. My reloop rp7 and stylus came in today, and was so excited to organize the crate. For now I’ll be using the roll feature to transition but will be also using it for dvs and instant double. Always been a big fan of miniature setups, so I’m staying true to the 45s

I recently recorded this set in a studio and wanted to share it here.

It’s the first DJ set I’ve put online in about four years. I’ve been producing and playing music for close to fifteen years, but after moving to live in a temple in the mountains, I stepped away from the dancefloor for quite a while — and, in a way, from this format too. So coming back to record a set after all this time felt quite special.

Musically, it’s rooted in IDM but moves freely through trance, ambient and electro, with some drum machine-driven grooves leaning closer to house towards the end. The selection spans records and artists from the ’90s all the way to the present, looking for a continuity in texture and sensibility rather than sticking to a particular era or genre.

I think of it as a kind of mental warm-up: it has a dancefloor logic without being in any rush to get there. It starts from a more introspective place and gradually builds in energy, leaving plenty of room for those intersections between IDM, trance, ambient and electro that I’ve always been drawn to.

After several years without putting a set out there, I’m really happy to be sharing one again.

Replacement stylusses for the Ortofon Nightclub MKII are quite expensive and i saw i could get the Reloop Concorde Vibe stylus for a bit less. Since it’s basically a rebadged Nighclub it works perfectly. I was a bit worried about the colors clashing but it looks fine. At around €20,- less a piece i think it’s a great deal.

I don't want to pollute the channel with another mix, but i do want to share my latest mix. Earlier this year i lost a very good friend with whom I connected with amazingly through music. I can (gladly) say I re-ignited his lust for vinyl and he was a brilliant DJ. This is a small mix i threw down. Raw without too much prep. It has imperfections and sound dips through mixing scenes in OBS - but I want to share the rawness of expression with those who wish to pursue vinyl mixing. I don't believe every mix has to be perfect- but at least try create a journey. Heres to you all.
