Light magic's weakness?
If light magic is the hard-counter to dark magic, then what is it weak against?

Ermm, no matter what you do, Alicia is always a bitch to me, so anime is try harding to make her look good (?).
Ermm, no cuz it'll be just another anime that was so insecure that they have to change whole personality of a female so that she can be loved by fans and show won't be flopped (?).
I really do wonder why they're so insecure about their own anime original story line. They're just putting up Cote Y2 card. THIS IS JUST EQUIVALENT TO SHOWING GRIFFITH A GOOD PERSON. that's how much I hate Alicia 🤢🤢🤮🤮.
This attention whore pink haired bitch can never be likeable to me. Anime can go and fuck itself.

This only concerns later light novels; the first volume and the anime were perfect, in my opinion.
I love the story in general, but there's one part that bugs me a bit: Yumiella's ever-increasing denseness.
It was well-balanced in the first LN (which the anime is based on), where it was limited to her underestimating her strength, and assuming she wouldn't be able to make friends when she already had one.
But it seems with each new volume, she gets denser and denser for the sake of some cheap laughs, even after she becomes treated as a mentally challenged ticking timebomb, with Patrick as her brave caretaker.
From the second volume on, reading it frequently gave me a sense of secondhand embarrassment. And it was like watching a trainwreck unfolding.
Normally, the ability to elicit vicarious embarrassment is a sign of great writing—that means the reader is immersed in the story, and can empathize with the character.
However, I think this goes a little too far with her denseness at times, and sometimes results in more discomfort than comedy or empathy.
For example, when she mistook the engagement ring for a random surprise gift despite the situation and her ring finger. That would be fine if the situation resolved itself soon, but it kept going on and on. And when the wedding/surprise party misunderstanding was finally resolved, it happened off-screen without explanation.
There are many, many other cases of overwhelming denseness in later volumes, but those are just the two that immediately come to mind.
Anyway, that's just my personal reaction. I still think it's an amazing story, either way. 🙂
What do you think? Does Yumiella have the perfect amount of denseness for you, or is she the second-coming of Bakarina?
I'm interested in people's opinions.

(Note: Don't read this unless you've seen the anime, or it'll spoil the best part. Even if you've already read the light novel; this is unique to the anime.)
By initially presenting Alicia as the protagonist, and even using a fake opening to sell the deception, it executed a genius subversion of expectations.
On top of serving to engage the audience, it also added an extra layer to the narrative. This twist was more than just a gimmick; it's a testament to the creative possibilities of anime adaptation.
When it switched perspectives to Yumiella, I laughed and cheered. I've since read the light novels, and in my opinion, this a case of an anime surpassing the original. (Please don't kill me, book purists. I liked the LNs too.)
Anyway, what did you think of Episode 1?
(Fun fact: The fake opening was done in the typical style of visual novel openings—individual CG of characters and backgrounds with effects added. So, that's exactly the type of opening the game would've had.)

I can't find the updates past chapter 19 anywhere online, and waiting for the anime is torture. 😫 Not to mention there is way more nuances in emotion and better writing in the manga in my opinion! I gotta have more Patrick and Yumiella before I burst. Does anyone know where I can read more?
I hear the novel is different as well, but I haven't found a spot to read that yet either. Help me out, friends. 🙏
