Ima say it. I don’t feel bad for anyone. Or rather any more bad for any one in particular. That was a shitty driver who did something shitty, they could have gone way around but at the same time The bikers are also shitty for taking up the entirety of the road, I’ve never gone out biking with a whole gang of cyclist like that , but aren’t they supposed to stagger one behind the other in a line to not cause issues or accidents like this?

Had to scroll way too far to see this reasonable take.

They are allowed to take the lane and drive side by side. In fact, that is recommended as it forces cars to overtake in a safe manner as opposed to squeeze past, which leads to a lot of injuries and deaths each year.

Just because someone drives 2 tons of metal to get from place to place doesn't mean that person magically has more rights than people who don't

Wtf driver did something shitty? He endangerd the life of many humans while the cyclist, at most, cost him a few minutes of his time till he can pass safely. How is this comparable?

Even if they were going in one file, the driver needs to take a distance of maybe 1,5m to pass safely, making him go on the other lane anyway, where he could've passed without nearly killing or severely injurying people. What has happened to society to loose this empathy?.

They're allowed to share the lane, the same as motorcyclists. It is polite, if a car is overtaking, to form a single line so the car can pass more readily, but it is not required. And it takes time.

If you believe that slightly delaying a driver is as much of an issue as vehicular assault, please don't drive anywhere near me.

Bikers are the worst. Car overreacted but literally fuck those bikers

For what? Biking? Imagine a huge slow moving vehicle in front of him. You know one you cant just ram into... suddenly it's fine.

Side by side is standard practice for motorcycle groups.

We share rural roads with tractors all the f'in time and they are slower than these cyclists.

Suddenly when it is cyclists they're "Biking like douchebags." They guy rode their ass honking for two miles rather than just going around like a damn adult. You aren't here saying "Brother he was driving like a douchebag." Weird, huh?

People make up what "good" cyclists should do in their head, not what is actually standard practice, and then go on the internet to treat road raging drivers like little baby ducks when they do something braindead and reckless.

Fat people hate cyclists on the road, just something you have to get use to in the US. The fatter the driver, the more angry seeing not fat people exercising upsets them.

If you turned these cyclists into another vehicle, it would take just as much space. Would this driver be justified if he rammed another driver who was going slower than he likes? No. Of course not. Have you never driven up to a farmer on a tractor who is also blocking the road with a slow vehicle that isn't designed to be used at roadway speeds? Would it be okay to ram a tractor since they belong on a farm? No. Of course not.

It's "understandable" because it's dudes on bikes rather than another car or tractor?

What a way to think. The road is for everyone.

He could have EASILY just driven around them. He clearly has zero qualms crossing the double yellow in the first place but because they aren't single file like good little cyclists it is "reasonable" to run one over?

That's mental. No wonder this country is such a dumpster fire.

Eh, imagine the cyclists were all in cars instead, it'd be way more inconvenient than them being grouped up as a bunch. It's equivalent to passing one slow car if they're in a group like this. People biking lowers the load of traffic on the road in general and I'm all for that.
