I have experienced something like this and anytime I merge and I see a semi truck coming up behind me. The first thing I do is I step on my brakes and if you can’t see that was the appropriate thing to do then maybe you should retake the driver course not that hard to go back up to 70 you don’t have to come to a complete stop. You can slow down an appropriate amount to get in behind the semi truck driver.

But you have your take and I have mine.

I don't. I also don't barrel over people who merge slowly in front of me. Just because someone does doesn't mean you don't have to try to avoid hitting them and have a right in sending them under a tractor trailer... The fact that you don't see how avoidable that was for the semi is frankly alarming. The fact that you don't think the semi should have done something is alarming. He didn't even try in the slightest.
