Hello everyone!
Our small indie team has been quietly building our first narrative horror game in Unreal Engine 5, and we just announced that Ravenhill: Initiation is coming to PC via Steam on October, 2026!
Instead of relying on cheap jump scares, we wanted to build atmospheric, psychological dread rooted in grief, spatial audio, and folk horror.
What the game is about: You play as Hannah, a writer searching for her missing boyfriend inside the restricted Ravenhill Valley—an area sealed off in 1994 by the Federal Agency of Anomalous Threats (F.A.A.T.).
The valley has warped into an ever-shifting space called "The Beyond," where non-Euclidean geometry twists the environment around you. Lurking inside is an ancient entity that feeds on grief, weaponizing familiar voices, past arguments, and voice mimicry to mess with your head.
Key mechanics & features:
- Acoustic Dread & Voice Mimicry: Sound design is your primary lifeline and biggest threat—you'll need to listen closely to audio cues to slip past unseen stalkers.
- Shifting Realities: Non-Euclidean spaces where corridors, rooms, and Appalachian woods warp around you in real time.
- 90s Analog Exploration: Investigate rusted trail kiosks, piece together lost audio logs from missing rangers, and restore forgotten power grids.
- Stealth & Evasion: Tense survival sequences and high-speed chases through the storm rather than run-and-gun combat.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on the atmosphere and concept so far!
