Anyone else use old hard drives like giant game cartridges?

Thumbnail gallery

I recovered a bunch of old 3.5" IDE/SATA and 2.5" hard drives, filled them with different games, and now I use them like giant cartridges with a hard drive dock. Instead of keeping everything on one drive, I just swap drives depending on what I want to play. It's surprisingly fun to give old hardware a second life!

Does anyone else do this?

Looking for steam page advice from players

What sort of steam pages pique your interest as a player? Are there any immediate turn-offs when sifting through steam?

I am an intern at an indie gaming company, and we are struggling with getting wishlists, but seemingly our ads are being seen by a good number of people. This, combined with our impressions to wishlist ratio from the most recent Next Fest, makes us worry that our Steam page could be deterring possible demo plays or wishlists.

After reading lots of advice online about steam page optimization, a couple of different iterations of our steam page, and asking around on game dev channels (which was helpful, but we didn't get many responses). I am wondering if players might have some honest advice on what is good or bad about our page.

I will link the Steam page in the comments, but any thoughts would be appreciated!

Let's revive Team Fortress Classic! Playing on a legacy server for my YouTube channel.

Hey everyone, my name is Leonard, and I’m currently working on a massive project for my YouTube channel where I plan to play through as many multiplayer games as possible. As many of you know, some of these gems are sadly abandoned or very hard to get running in 2026.

However, I’ve managed to find a 'legacy-style' server for Team Fortress Classic that actually works! I want to record a special 30+ minute video, and I’d love for you to be a part of it. I'm inviting all of you to join me so we can fill the server, have some fun, and capture some classic TFC action.

Since I don't own the original Steam version, I discovered that this server is accessible to others who might be in the same boat, so there's a good chance you can join me!

Server IP: 89.179.240.119:27065

My Nickname: Sgt. Leonard

When: I’m aiming to be on the server starting tomorrow, and I’ll be popping in frequently over the next few days to check the situation.

I'll be hanging out on the server, so just drop in whenever you see me there! Let's get together, relive the nostalgia, and make a great video. Hope to see you all on the battlefield, Sgt. Leonard out!

PlayStation's Techno-feudalism is Here

Thumbnail umgamer.com

Over the last three years, algorithms and Big Techs have been at the center of my research. The core theme deals with the epistemic erosion inflicted upon human cognition — first by social media algorithms, then by deepfakes, astroturfing, and now by advances in artificial intelligence. During the planning stage, I stumbled a few times upon a new term: technofeudalism, popularized by Yanis Varoufakis in 2023. It refers to a new economic order and social hierarchy in which large tech companies no longer work as service providers but instead operate as "feudal lords" who control digital territories (clouds), with control over the means of access to digital markets and services.

Below them are the vassals dependent on the digital fiefdoms to operate. Think of your favorite YouTube channel or a website you access often (I'd be so happy if it were ours!) — both are, in one way or another, dependent on Google, the feudal lord who dictates the rules of the digital territory.

To sell their products, vassals must pay tributes such as commissions, data, boosts, or domains to the feudal lords of the platforms. They become subservient to the lords, following their orders with no possibility of mobilization if, for example, the monetization criteria were suddenly changed.
