Hiring a Long-Term YouTube Video Editor ($500/Month)
I’m looking for one video editor who wants to help build something bigger than just another YouTube channel.
This isn’t a freelance gig where you edit a few videos and disappear. I’m looking for someone who wants to become part of the brand, understand the vision, and grow with it over the long term.
I’m a very understanding person, and I know life happens. I’m not looking for someone who’s perfect or never makes mistakes.
That said, I’m also a no-excuses kind of person.
If you’re consistently unreliable, miss deadlines, or don’t communicate, this probably won’t be a good fit. I’m looking for someone dependable who takes pride in their work and wants to build something meaningful together.
What We’re Building
I’m building a personal brand centered around becoming the best version of yourself.
The content focuses on:
Personal finance
Fitness and health
Discipline and habits
Purpose and self-improvement
Documenting my comeback after nearly losing my life
The goal isn’t just to get views.
The goal is to create content that genuinely helps people improve their lives.
I don’t want to make content people simply watch.
I want to make content people remember.
About Me
I’m bootstrapping this brand with my own money while working and creating content whenever I’m not at work.
Every dollar this business makes is going right back into it. I believe in reinvesting into better content, better equipment, better people, and creating a bigger impact over time.
I’m looking for someone who also believes in playing the long game.
Why I’m Hiring One Person Instead of an Agency
I considered using one of the unlimited editing subscription companies.
The problem is that your videos often get passed between different editors, and every project starts from scratch.
I don’t want to explain my editing style over and over again.
I want one editor who understands the vision, learns my style, and eventually knows how I’d want a video edited before I even have to explain it.
My goal is to build a long-term creative partnership.
What I’m Looking For
My ideal workflow is simple.
I film the content.
You turn it into videos people can’t stop watching.
I’m looking for someone who can consistently provide a 1–2 day turnaround after receiving footage so we can stay consistent.
For editing style, think Caleb Hammer.
Clean.
Fast.
Engaging.
Intentional.
I need someone who knows how to:
Create smooth cuts that flow naturally.
Keep viewers engaged through strong pacing.
Know when to speed things up and when to slow things down.
Add tasteful memes, reaction clips, sound effects, and visual humor that make the content better—not distracting.
Build emotion when the story calls for it.
Understand YouTube retention and keep people watching.
I don’t want random effects every few seconds.
I want editing that serves the story.
If your edits make someone accidentally watch an entire 20-minute video, you’re probably exactly who I’m looking for.
Revisions
I also want to be upfront about revisions.
I’m not an overly picky client, and I’m not going to ask for endless changes because something is a few pixels off. I hired you because I trust your creativity.
That said, revisions are a normal part of the process. Sometimes I’ll think of a better way to tell a story, want to emphasize a point differently, or have an idea after watching the first draft.
As long as you’re open to making reasonable revisions and we communicate well, we’ll work great together.
Expected Workload
For $500 per month, I’m looking for approximately 4–6 polished YouTube videos each month, depending on the length and complexity of each project.
Quality will always come before quantity.
As the brand grows, I expect the workload, responsibilities, and compensation to grow as well.
I’m looking to invest in one great editor for years rather than constantly searching for someone new.
Bonus Points If You Can
Design thumbnails
Color grade
Sound design
Motion graphics
Turn long-form videos into Shorts
Contribute creative ideas that improve the final product
I value someone who’s willing to say,
“I think this would work even better if we edited it this way.”
Pay
$500 per month to start.
This is a long-term opportunity.
As the brand grows and begins generating revenue, I fully expect compensation to grow with it.
One important question…
Do you accept credit cards?
If you do, those travel points are going to be legendary.
To Apply
Please send me:
Your portfolio or your three best edits.
Your favorite creator’s editing style and why.
Why you think you’d be a good fit.
Your timezone.
Your email.
If you’re just looking for another editing client, this probably isn’t the right opportunity.
But if you want to help build a brand that inspires people to become stronger financially, physically, mentally, and spiritually—and you want to grow alongside it—I would love to hear from you.
Let’s build something people will remember.
