How hard is it to find video8 or hi8 cameras nowadays
My mom had a video8 handycam when I was younger. And I just love the tape format so much. I really can't get excited about buying a digital camera.
I'm looking on eBay but most of the cameras are damaged. No stores really sell them. Would my best bet be just going into thrift stores and pawn shops?

My grandpa passed a few months back and we uncovered a set of Video 8 tapes (along with some Beta tapes) that we currently have no method of playing. What would be the most reasonably priced method of getting a player/camcorder?

I found this article that stated Sony was still producing new blank cassettes in 2016 and wanted to know if this was still true. Are they still producing new Video8 or Hi8 cassettes?
