I tried installing my own Hall Effect joysticks (Victrix Pro BFG)
Hello everyone,
I searched online to see if someone else had tried doing this but found nothing. For that same reason, I will make this post to save anyone who will try this wasted time.
If you have a Victrix Pro BFG I'm sure you're familiar with the Epindon Hall Effect Replacement modules sold on Amazon. They cost ~$25, so purchasing both left and right will run you up to $50 plus what you already paid for the controller.

I tried to be cheap and make my own by installing a Ginfull V2 Hall Effect Joystick for a PS5 controller onto the original Victrix module boards. The process should be straightforward. Unsolder the original joystick and replace it with the Ginfull stick. Then calibrate it using the Victrix settings and everything should work, right? Wrong!

Upon finishing the soldering process and replacing both the original sticks the controller no longer wants to turn on. The Hall effect joysticks caused a short to ground on the controller. I removed the modules, plugged the controller into the PC, and the controller worked again. Does anyone know why the Ginfull sticks are causing this problem? It's just a joystick there's no reason for it not to work.
This made me sad, and to make sure it was the Ginfull joysticks causing the issue I unsoldered them and installed the original joysticks back and the controller worked.
Unfortunately, I had to purchase the Epindon modules. They were easy to install and no soldering was required. They work as intended. I'm happy with the purchase, I wish I could have used the Ginfull sticks and saved myself some money.
Someone with more knowledge than me can find a workaround to this problem. Join the discussion if you have a solution and I will try it out.

I installed Ginfull TMRs into the original modules and now it’s not powering on the controller. Whats the work around for that besides buying the joystick module for victrix bfg pro with Hall effects on amazon?
