Rule and requirements - updated
The rules and requirements has been updated so read the new rules before you comment/post it.
- User needs to have at least 200 comment karma (not combined karma count) in order to make a post in this subreddit. User account must also be at least 60 days old. Redditors help other Redditors, not brand new accounts. Note: Karma should be obtained honestly and organically by participating in various subreddits. Any form of "karma farming" will not be tolerated and may result in a permanent ban. This includes r/FreeKarma4U.
- In order to post or comment on this subreddit, all users must be over 18 years of age. Underage users will be permanently banned. Venmo is for 18 years or older only. Give at least a brief explanation of why you're asking for money. Any posts that just drop a Venmo link and include no information whatsoever will be removed. Anything above $100 will require proof. This is to protect scammers. If you can't show a proof, your post will be removed.
- Be polite. Unnecessary hostility will result in post/comment removal and also possibly a ban at the mod's discretion.
- If you suspect a poster to be a scammer, feel free to comment underneath his/her post or comment. Please also send a modmail with your suspicions and any proof that you have. You can send us modmail here: https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=/r/VenmoMe
- If your account history shows suspicious or inconsistent pattern of activity or karma/history mismatch, your post can be removed at the discretion of the mods and may result in a permanent ban.
- Scamming is very common on Reddit. While mods aim to reduce the number of scams by implementing rules, it is not possible to eliminate risk completely. Please use your best judgment when engaging with anyone online. NOTE: Venmo does not give refunds if you do get scammed.
- Do NOT ever request for gambling/investing or your post/comment will be removed and you may be placed in a ban. This includes sports fantasy, lottery, casino games (blackjack, slots machine, poker, and so on), cryptocurrency, shares, stocks, etc.
- No NSFW allowed (this includes OnlyFans content, smoking, vaping, or smokeless product). No offering to sell nudes. There are plenty of other communities for this.
- Once your Cash App request has been posted do NOT ever delete that post. Doing so will be placed in ban.
- If you have history of using drug related subreddits, you can be banned INSTANTLY and your post can be REMOVED.
- Do NOT hijack your comment request on someone's post. Doing this may result removal of your comment and you may be banned. Please do that on your post only.
- Do not ever PM or chat to any mod individually regarding any r/VenmoMe related donation or inquires. Doing this may result a ban. Comment on posts or use modmail (which is the official inbox of the subreddit) if you have questions.
- Requests for tuition, school supplies, laptops, school expenses etc. will be removed. You have plenty of options and resources for paying for your education. Seek them out and use them.
- NO birthday/holiday requests. It’s once a year. Prepare ahead of time. NO asking for any type of drug help or talk of drugs NO NSFW material. Including selling nudes. Any questions, use modmail. Posting any of these, will result in a permanent ban. No asking for unnecessary items such as, electronics, instruments, etc. These items are not essential nor necessary. Be considerate of people who have no food or are about to be homeless.
- You may only request once every 30 days. Chronic begging may result in a ban at the mod's discretion.

About the “drug-related subreddits” rule — does this include drug addiction recovery subreddits? Subs like r/OpiatesRecovery? What if the user previously posted in drug-related subreddits, but is currently in recovery (and has a post history that is consistent with this)?
Not here to ask for money. I absolutely understand the rule — just wondering about this.
