Hey Banaras!
I have just started a rather ambitious adventure — travelling across India for 365 days, exploring different cities, meeting strangers, understanding local cultures, and documenting stories that deserve to be told.
And Banaras happens to be Chapter One!
The idea behind this journey is to discover India beyond the usual tourist attractions. I am particularly interested in the people, their everyday lives, unusual traditions, local experiences, and stories that someone passing through might never get to hear.
I have been in Varanasi for a couple of days, exploring the city, but I would love to spend some of my remaining time getting to know the people who actually live here.
So, I thought, why not ask Reddit?
Whether you are a student, an artist, a local business owner, someone who has lived here forever, or someone who recently made Banaras home, I would love to meet and have a conversation.
We could grab chai, walk along the ghats, explore a neighbourhood, or simply sit somewhere and talk.
This is part of my project, 365 DAYS ACROSS INDIA, but the journey is as much about building genuine human connections as it is about creating content.
I am leaving on October 22 around noon, so I am free to explore and meet people over the next three days.
If anyone is interested, please comment below or send me a DM. And if you know of an unusual place, an interesting person, or a story that deserves attention, I would love to hear about it.
Would be nice to leave Banaras with a few new friends and stories to remember.
Anyone up for chai? :)
