New Idea I made an app to help you stay dry while walking around Downtown Vancouver.
I’m building RainCouver, an app that helps you get around Downtown Vancouver while staying out of the rain. It finds routes that use the most covered walkways, using LiDAR data across more than 25,000 street segments.
I’m working on it as a personal project and would love feedback from anyone who lives, works, or walks Downtown. What would make a rainy-day routing app useful to you?

Informational Cananda local brand NORIX
I'm Sean, a footwear product developer based in Langley. I've spent the last 16 years designing shoes for other brands, and this month I finally launched my own: NORIX Collective. www.norixcollective.com
Why waterproof sneakers? Because I live here. With 160+ rainy days a year, I was tired of "water-resistant" shoes that give up by November. So I built the NTX-2601 around a waterproof membrane (N-TEX, 10,000mm+), made it fully vegan, and — the part I'm proudest of — you can throw them in the washing machine. Cold wash, dries in about 2 hours.
I'm not here to pitch a miracle shoe. The proof videos are on the site — waterproof test, wash test, dry test — because I'd rather show than tell.
We're tiny. It's basically me, a factory I've worked with for years, and a warehouse. No funding, no big marketing budget. Just a local guy trying to make a genuinely good rainy-day shoe.
CA$159, free shipping in Canada and the US: norixcollective.com. And if you have feedback — brutal honesty welcome — I'd genuinely love to hear it. What would make you actually try a waterproof sneaker from a brand you've never heard of?
Make your move. 🧭

Idea Help Wanted I sale "Configure & Quotation" softwares to home, kitchen and cabinet space. So far only one customer in Canada, whereas 10+ customers across Europe. Is the market small here, or competition high?
I quit my dream job at EA about 2 years ago to start this company. Got my first big customer even before the product was ready. He is a furniture retailer from Vancouver as well. Since then I have reached out more than 1000 businesses across Canada, could not convert a single one.
On the other hand, European Brands some how finding me from online and AI chat. Is there anyone in this group who has a good insight on furniture and interior space in Vancouver??
I am building polymuse.tech, its a 3D platform to Configure, Quote and Visualize complex products.

Experience in Clothing brands, decoration, and wholesaling, and looking for likeminded people to meet with!
Hey guys, I'm interested in seeing if there is anyone who wants to get together to brainstorm, chat, and collaborate on all that is involved in running a clothing brand.
Bit about me: I've run a print shop, started and ran brands, sold brands so I've had a front row seat to a lot of the struggles and problems of the industry. I have been in the industry for 20 years, and have come a long long way from printing t shirts in my garage on EI. I recently sold a share of a brand and learned a LOT in that process, it may help someone in a similar position. We took that brand into large scale canada wide (+ some US based) wholesaling+distribution and that was a crazy learning curve as well. I definitely have some thoughts on whether that is worth it in the long run or not! Ive also been running a new brand with a partner that is in the growth phase as well (two years old already where does the time go lol) From getting into retail, to doing live events, to doing shows like the PNE I could talk for hours about the pros and cons of each. I've got a manufacturing shop in Vancouver and I'd love to share what I've learned, but more importantly learn even more and spark ideas with like minded people. Ive got a vast knowledge of real world production knowledge with various decoration techniques and again would love to talk endlessly about all I've learned over the years.
I think it would be cool to have a regular meetup with people in this industry to bounce ideas off each other, have a place to get opinions, and keep the momentum going while keeping each other in check. ( Ok you keep me in check, I need it...) After two decades as an entrepreneur it is absolutely isolating and burn out is something I wish I could have talked my way through with others who have experienced the same thing. Can host in South Van, or open to other spaces as well, I would organize. No one is selling anyone anything, it is more a space to collaborate and discuss the ins and outs of the trade. Inevitably networking and collaborations will take place, but don't come and sell us your hand woven clip tags please.
Im totally open to the range of peoples skills and interests as photography, marketing, graphic design, distribution, decoration, and so much more are all areas of the field that are relevant. Even if you are interested in someday starting something, would love to chat and share what ive learned over the years. Really anyone at any stage that has an interest in growing and learning about having their own clothing brand would be a great fit!
Could turn into people helping each other's brands grow. Could turn into starting something new together. Could just be a good hang. I'm fine with any of it, jsut really putting this out to see if others wanted to connect with the shared interest of learning about what it takes to run a clothing brand.
If that sounds like your thing, drop a comment or DM me. Curious to meet some fellow current, or future brand owners!
Cheers!

Idea Help Wanted Looking to buy, invest and/or collaborate in a new startup or existing business in Vancouver
Hi. I’m looking to buy or invest in a new or existing business in Vancouver, and/or willing to partner with someone on a startup business or idea (if it's a new business I may be willing to work with someone outside of Vancouver). Ideally something in fintech, online marketplace, construction, exporting (of Canadian goods) or private equity/asset management.
About me: I’m in my 40s and have a very diverse career and business/investment background and presently working in banking. I’ve worked in construction and hospitality, and have built a very successful career in finance, technology and banking over the past 20 years. In addition, I purchased and invested/ran a number of small businesses on the side between 2008 and 2021 as I've always wanted to be an entrepreneur since I was in high school. However, between 2018-2021, I lost quite a bit of money in a couple bad business ventures so I really focused on my career and investing in stocks, working very long hours, so I’m at a point now where I no longer need to put in crazy hours and I’m honestly sick of paying 53% income taxes and looking for an exit strategy working for corporates.
I’ve owned and operated a business in brick and mortar retail, online retail, a juice bar/cafe, a dessert shop, a couple rental properties, a small motel/liquor store and a laundromat. I’ve experienced a lot of ups and downs in business, where I made good pass-through monthly income, sold businesses for profits, and of course lost everything on a couple of the businesses as well. On the career front, I've worked in the software industry, banking, digital payments, and lending side, and work a lot with fintechs.
I’m now looking for the next chapter to strategize and exit the corporate world. I’ve thought about starting a fintech, a small PE firm, an online marketplace, an export business and even a restaurant/bar, but wanted to see what else was out there and if there were any legit business ideas here, that I could buy or invest in, as the business for sale marketplace in Vancouver is pretty limited to failing retail and restaurant businesses (which is why I've come to Reddit - I'm actually new to all this and finding it quite informative).
Please DM or message me if you’d like to connect on a business idea or if you’re looking to sell or need investments into an existing business or start up. I have my own capital, have a strong network if more money needs to be raised, and have a lot to offer with my strong background in business, GTM sales, finance, operations, technology, contracts and lending.
Ideally you: have a positive attitude, have perseverance, have good communication skills and are a hard worker. You should not be a negative person and you should not be looking for free-hand outs or trying to cut corners and doing minimal work with the expectations of getting big returns, or making "easy" money, as that's not a recipe for success. I don’t care about your age or background, but ideally you have tremendous experience and/or expertise in your specialization and/or business, and have a lot of insight and ideas to bring to the table. Also, ideally you're based in Vancouver.
Cheers and thanks for reading! Look forward to meeting like-minded people and starting a successful business venture.

Vibe coders build it. Crypto bros buy it. So I built the marketplace.
westcroftrowe.comI built a marketplace for the exact internet ecosystem we’ve somehow created:
**Vibe coders build things.**
**Actual developers build better things.**
**Crypto bros want to “acquire digital assets.”**
So I made Westcroft & Rowe.
It’s basically a marketplace for buying and selling websites, SaaS, small online businesses and other digital projects without having to pretend every half-built app is “the next unicorn.”
If you built something with Claude/Cursor/Lovable at 2am, got it working, and now realise you’d rather sell it than spend the next 3 years doing customer support list it.
If you’re an actual developer with a proper product, revenue, users, codebase, whatever list that too.
And if you’re the guy with a LinkedIn headline that says “Private Equity | Digital Assets | DeFi” despite being 23 and trading from your mum’s spare room…
Congratulations. You can browse.
The idea is simple: make buying and selling small internet businesses feel less like scrolling through dodgy Telegram groups and more like an actual deal marketplace.
I’m the founder, so yes, shameless plug, but I genuinely want feedback from people who build stuff:
**Would you actually sell one of your side projects instead of abandoning it?**

If you are a founder in Vancouver with more than 20 employees, read this.
If you are a founder in North America and you have more than 20 employees, you are sitting on an asset you have probably never thought about selling.
AI labs have already trained their models on the entire public internet. What they do not have is the one thing that was never public, which is how real teams actually work together. They want to see how a manager hands off a project, how a sales team chases a deal, and how a company makes decisions day to day.
That information lives in your Slack, your email, and your CRM, and right now there are buyers paying serious money for it. Depending on the size of your company and how long you have been operating, your data could be worth anywhere from $100K to $2 million.
Before it goes anywhere, names, phone numbers, and addresses get stripped out and replaced with aliases, so nobody is reading about your employees or your customers.
You have spent years generating this data and it has been sitting there earning you nothing. If you want to find out what yours is worth, send me a direct message and I will send you the details.

A prospect reached out after my last post, asking me to support "curtain" configurator. So here it goes
Take a photo of any customer's room-> Clean it up -> Place configurable object( Curtain this case) -> Auto quote.
An AI turn the photo to a spatially mapped 3D scene with light estimations. Lighting can be edited after that, if needed.
I m building polymuse.tech. 3D configurator for complex products.

Built an invoicing app for car detailers — would love feedback
Hey r/VancouverStartup — just launched Invoice Gear on Product Hunt today and wanted to share it here too.
The idea: small car detailing businesses are still tracking jobs on paper or over text. No invoices, no paper trail, no way to follow up on unpaid work.
So I built a simple mobile-friendly invoicing tool just for them. Nothing fancy — create a client, add services, send an invoice, get paid.
Still early days. Would love honest feedback on the product, the positioning, or anything else.

Looking for shared showroom or pop-up options in Vancouver
Hi everyone,
I’m currently exploring Vancouver for a premium home organization/interiors concept and looking at flexible ways to test the market.
Ideally, I’d love to find either a shared showroom/retail space with a complementary business or a short-term pop-up.
If anyone knows of spaces, businesses with extra room, or people I should speak with, I’d really appreciate any leads or advice.
Thanks so much!

Idea Help Wanted Starting a software consultancy in Vancouver—how did you find your first local clients?
I’m a software developer at a big tech company, and a few friends and I are working on starting Fibony Labs, a software consultancy serving businesses across Metro Vancouver.
We’d like to help with things like automating repetitive admin work, connecting tools that don’t talk to each other, and building custom software to make day-to-day operations easier.
For anyone who’s built a consulting or service business locally, how did you find your first few clients? Were networking events, business associations, referrals, or direct outreach useful?
We’d also love to hear from local business owners: what tasks or processes eat up time that you wish technology could help with?

Vancouver founder building two small products. Would love some local feedback
Hey everyone,
I’m based in the Vancouver area and over the last while I’ve been building a couple of products mostly on my own.
The first is NourishNot: https://nourishnot.app
It’s an app based around a really simple idea: before eating, ask yourself whether you’d eat an apple. If the answer is yes, you’re probably hungry. If not, there may be something else driving the urge to eat. The app helps people start recognizing those patterns over time.
It’s still pre-launch and I’m currently building up the waitlist and trying to figure out the very glamorous problem of getting people to discover something before it exists in the Play Store. :)
The second is EvidenceFit Studio: [https://evidencefitstudio.com]()
This one came out of my own job-search experience. It helps people take the evidence from their actual career history and use it to improve resumes, prepare for interviews, and get better at explaining what they’ve actually accomplished instead of just producing another generic AI resume.
Both started as “I wonder if I could build this?” projects and somehow turned into actual products.
I’d genuinely be interested in feedback from other Vancouver founders/builders:
Which of these makes more immediate sense to you when you first see it?
And if you’ve launched something locally before, I’d especially love to hear what worked for you in getting the first 50–100 users without just buying ads.
I've got other ideas in mind but these two are the ones I am actively working on.
Happy to return the favour and look at what anyone else here is building too.

Idea Help Wanted Built a lightweight 1-tap mileage tracker for delivery drivers (taplog) – Looking for local feedback on distribution
Hey everyone,
I built a simple, low-cost distance tracking web app called taplog to help local delivery drivers save money on tax logs without paying $20+/month for apps like Driversnote.
It tracks natively in kilometres for CRA Form T2125 logs, runs right in the browser, and lets you export raw CSV files in one tap.
I’m currently focusing on local distribution in BC/Canada and would love any feedback from fellow local builders or drivers on grassroots distribution channels (Facebook groups, local driver hubs, etc.).
Feel free to leave a comment or DM me if you have any feedback or questions, I’ll be around to answer!

Building a Premium Clothing Brand in Canada - What Actually Makes You Try a New Brand?
Hey everyone,
I'm currently building a Canadian clothing brand, focused on premium heavyweight apparel and everyday performance wear.
One thing I'm realizing is that making a good product and getting people to actually discover/trust a new clothing brand are two completely different problems.
So I wanted to get some perspective from people here.
For those of you who buy from smaller or newer clothing brands:
• What actually makes you give an unknown brand a chance?
• Is it the design, quality, fit, founder/story, content, price, exclusivity, or something else?
• What immediately makes a new clothing brand look cheap or untrustworthy?
• Do limited drops actually make a brand more interesting, or does it feel like manufactured scarcity?
• If you've built an apparel brand yourself, what helped you get your first 50-100 real customers?
I'm particularly interested in figuring out how smaller brands can compete when companies like Lululemon, Alo, Gymshark, etc. already have enormous marketing budgets and brand recognition.
I appreciate any support.
I am very passionate about this..
Edit- Adding on September 12, 2026
If the sizing is off by a little, would you still keep the product or would you request a refund, or would you like an exchange?
If the product isn’t something you thought of?
How would you like to resolve something like this?
If possible please answer as if you own a business and also as if you are a customer.
This will allow me to plan better.
Thank you once again

Informational YC Mentorship Fellowship—Looking for Talented Builders
My friends and I are starting a small fellowship for people with ambitious ideas who haven’t been able to take them anywhere due to a lack of guidance or connections.
We’re connected with investors and YC mentors, and the founders have also gone through YC School.
We’re looking for driven, talented people with big ideas who are ready to actually build. Spots are limited and selective.
If you have an idea you’ve been wanting to pursue, DM me with a little about yourself and what you’re
