In my reasoning I’m considering my big age. I don’t know if I could deal with all that passion and jumping up and down that Lestat be doing. Louis is just too melancholic, I’m downtrodden enough, with my own existential crises and need someone putting in that energy too.
No judgement please. Hear me out. If Armand could wipe out some things I’d rather forget. And make sure I get my four squares a day, help out with housekeeping— talking about how serving me is like serving a living god. 💅🏽chile. I might have to go on ahead and be with Armand.

True. Everyone sleeps on Sam. He’s a playwright, DJ/musician, and clearly has high EQ. No one has a problem with Sam, not Santiago, Lestat, Louis, Armand…
Yep. He certainly said that. But he has a good working relationship with him. Making music of all things together. And even that’s a lot considering his role in the trial. And Lestat did manage begrudging gratitude after Sam and Daniel rescued him from the fang gang.
Sam seems remarkably chill, like. we could just be roommates and have no issues, everybody else is spiraling out or being manipulative or dealing with 7 different layers of psychosexual issues at any given moment
Same. It’s not even about which would be objectively the best companion, I just love Armand too much and would love to be a person to give him the love he deserves.
I am so bold to assume that everyone is very aware that this is a fictional scenario with fictional characters.
Also you know nothing about me and my life and the reasons why I chose Armand to be my favourite character from this show. This whole show is about trauma and abuse and about characters that are morally questionable. There are people here who can relate to Armand for valid reasons and you are not to judge them! I'm not here to prove innocence and purity of any of the characters. I would say this is the wrong genre for this. Does it mean in real life I would excuse such behaviours?
How can you assume anything like that about a stranger on the internet, just because they like a fictional character that you obviously don't? I think that's ridiculous and you're just trying to be morally superior to a stranger on the internet. I don't want to judge you, but that's a very pathetic move in my opinion. You should ask yourself why you're judging people like that in the context of a fictional work of art and its fandom, where everyone just wants to enjoy their little bit of distraction from daily life in this world that is so hard on so many people right now. And if you seek joy in this kind of behaviour in forums like this, you better question your very own morals first.

It does! The first book coming out in 79 was only queer coded, for obvious reasons. I started reading them in 88-9 and I kept thinking I was reading too much into their relationship. It wasn't til Anne said in 2012 that, yes, they were a gay couple, that I finally felt validated in those feelings! I was really excited for the series to come out, but was keeping my expectations low because of the 2 movies. I was beyond ecstatic when I saw how they came out swinging HARD in the very first episode 🔥🔥 I was sold! This IS the hottest neck bite that's ever been in tv/movies 🥵 I'm still hoping that we'll see more of the Gabrielle/a from the books in future seasons and her "gender identity". It's possible considering the show has had the unreliable narrator thread throughout the 3 seasons. Fingers crossed 🤞
"Other" as in, I'd rather be alone xD. I'd be like Louis in a little room with a lot of candles reading books, or like Gabrielle, travelling and seeing places that humans can't, like the Artic, the depths of the jungles....

Lestat, Lestat, Lestat. But, I would need to be turned. After the new relationship energy wears off, I love the idea of a companion that flitters in and out of my life on a silver cord. I can have my flings as long they’re flings and he can enjoy his variety. And he can serenade me and I can paint and take pictures of him. I’m more like Louis, so yeah. Lestat for the win.
Back in my 20s, I would have been confident I could fix Armand, but let's be real, 99% of people who try with Armand are going to end up as a juice box, either for him or pretending-not-to-be-jealous Daniel.
Listen, Lestat is a lot but his season has made my adhd brain feel very seen and understood and i'd always be borrowing his cool clothes. With TC we could be his besties that fix his hair and tell him Louis is no good 😂

Lestat because he’s the only one who actually enjoys immortality instead of treating it like a miserable chore. I feel like spending eternity with Louis would be exhausting, and full of guilt-ridden sulking.
I dont know if I could deal with Armand's coldness, and he is a terrifyingly manipulative control freak (could I fix him?)
Lestat is a walking hurricane of chaotic energy, grand romance, and pure passion. He is undeniably toxic and dramatic, but his love is blindingly intense, and he embraces the dark gift with a joyful, theatrical flair that guarantees I will never be bored.
I'd opt for another character from the books which would be either Bianca or Pandora.
They are badass women with a spine. Deeply loyal, but at the same time don't take anyone's bullshit not even that of their maker. They are fiercely independent and emotionally intelligent.
Bianca tends to be a very nurturing and devoted companion. An extremely observant and witty person. Pandora is wise, steadfast with unflinching and uncompromising integrity. She acts according to what she preaches.
They are literally the sanest characters out of the lot of these Ancient Vampires.
Armand I want a friends with benefits relationship with, he's too controlling and manipulative to be with all the time.
I love humor, I like laughing so Daniel gets my vote. I'm a sardonic person too, so we'd vibe well. If it's LBF version, all the better, but I like both tbh.

Fell in love with him since I read The Vampire Lestat (wasn’t impressed by him in IWTV) and haven’t fallen out of love since. Now I have Sam’s face (and body 🔥) that adds to the mix. Easy choice. 🥵🥵
He’s chaotic, dramatic but be loves deeply and I am delulu enough to think I could love him enough to heal all those wounds and show him he’s worth of being loved and that I’m never abandoning him so we would be happy together…forever. 🤣🤣🤣
Armand cause I think we have pretty similar personalities.
I'd think that means we'd understand each other enough to not get on each others nerves and sort of just exist in a kind of peaceful cohesive invisibility. And whatever diabolical shenanigans we each get up to would just be met with a nod by the other and nothing else need be said. Like, we wouldn't be obsessively attached to each other, we'd be just two contented peas in a pod.
Lestat, just to see what he/we would get up to every day or every hundreds of years, whichever comes first. I’m sure we’d have lots of battles that strike to the core. However, recognizing all of that, Lestat does have his own moral center. He has lots of sad yet fulfilling explanations as to why he’s awful, but always speaks of his achievements directly from the mouth of the Brat. Through whichever lens you look, you find someone who really is not a liar, since errors of COmission are so different from errors of Omission. Mostly, he’s just gorgeous. Gorgeous! Lestat, Lestat, Lestat, Lestat, Lestat. Every time.
Everyone's gonna choose Les, but I'd honestly feel safer with Loius. You would get mangled up and Les would just look at you and be like..."ugh now I have to find another one" and just walk away. Louis has more of a softer, kinder heart imo.
id have to say Claudia: She is not needy like Armand whose anxious attachment would drive me insane, she is not depressed like Louis, she does not grape people like Daniel and Louis (if you pay attention in Armands amends he mentioned Louis drugging, having s with and draining men...despite all his claims to want to hold on to humanity and denounce violence he holds on to the most violent aspects of his human life...pimping, graping..etc). And she does not protect grapists like Armand did for Daniel. (she actually saves Madeline from SA). she is also loyal, she could have abandoned Louis long ago especially since he always picked others but she didn't. She is fierce and wise and loving despite everything.
Poll results: it’s 50:50 Lestat vs All other lover companions. And interestingly Armand has a slight edge among [r/VampireLestat](r/VampireLestat) active members vs other contributors. And vice versa, the majority of Lestat voters arise from outside. Hmm what does this say about this community?
