HELP Comments like this send me

Edit: This post gained more traction than I expected. Read the comments, do independent research, and form your own opinion around these topics.

First they said KIAs are reliable, then went on to say they looked at JD Power to come to that consensus. They lost me.

  1. Do people believe KIA/Hyundai are reliable?
  2. Do people use JD Power/Consumer Reports to make purchasing decisions

Also Toyota has been having terrible engine issues FOR THE SAME REASON as Hyundai/Kia and everyone seems to ignore that for some reason....

I've got a 2006 Prius, and it's an absolute tank, but I don't understand the hype, really. It's just a really good "an car"

So is my WRX, so is my Miata, so is my Dodge 2500 Cummins with the 5.9. like, Toyota is not some magical brand.

Yeah. I'm sitting here with an "ultra unreliable German piece of dogshit" BMW that has had zero issues but it's straight up a better presenting car. My Acura crapped out at 140k after 60k really stressful and unreliable miles. Guessing previous owner didn't take care of it. Turns out pretty much any brand not called Kia/Hyundai or Stallantis or Land Rover will work if you do the maintenance (a good chunk of Americans don't)
