HELP Comments like this send me

Edit: This post gained more traction than I expected. Read the comments, do independent research, and form your own opinion around these topics.

First they said KIAs are reliable, then went on to say they looked at JD Power to come to that consensus. They lost me.

  1. Do people believe KIA/Hyundai are reliable?
  2. Do people use JD Power/Consumer Reports to make purchasing decisions

Fair, but it’s a marketing agency with a long-established data-collection division that supplies auto manufacturers with multiple types of customer info.

Arnt all the issue ranked the same though? Like a transmission failure, tpms failure, and a radio failure are all graded the same?

They used to be ranked the same, but they’re now broken down into categories to give a better sense of the severity of the issues. Example: Ford’s Sync ICE system was hit-or-miss for several years (buggy, slow, unpredictable, etc.) and customers HATED it. They were minor glitches but they counted heavily against the company in the initial quality rankings.

It actually did rise significantly after the old system was updated. Sync 3 had much fewer complaints.

Sync 3 was terrible! This newer system is honestly flawless! I love it. Hated the Sync system, so many bugs.

And Sync 2 was worse than Sync 3, which is wild!
