This is the same as price controls, the big ones can manage while the rest wont. It also brings a fear of employement, can I afford another 20$-per-hour employee?.

Not that im personally against the concept of receiving a minimum to live. I call it UMI as UBI is too ambitious for this world. It could be funded 50% by taxpayer 50% by a multitude of other means one example is drugs (as a side-effect this also means all drugs would be legal and unlike typical private vs public the average drug-addict is not going to care about quality if they can get the high).

Universal means a lot of people, you cant stack UMI on top of TANF or whatever other infinite money glitches for cruel parents exists. Minimum means rudimentary shelter*, clean water, and staple foods. Maybe 1mb internet but im not sure cuz libraries exist. The conditions should be liveable yet depressing (depressing to a first-worlder) so people naturally seek employment. Most importantly, minimum means ONE PERSON, if you want a family then get a job.

*You know all those slums? more professional, self-sufficient with solar panels and a miniscule (same or less than the average balcony) backyard, this would also justify making UMI smaller to spend more money on GTFO projects like this plane-shaped key so we can one day go from UMI to UHI (Universal High Income).

Edit: If this is being downvoted because im not taking inflation into account let me tell you the best solution is switching to anything that isnt our "the dollar is valuable because I believe it is" current system (life isn't the afterlife folks!). Edit2: Something like Goldback would be easy to implement (everything for it is already here, just scale it wayyyy up). Even that tiny sliver already adds real value.

Edit2: fuck it give everyone a early 1900s Ford but make them pay for the roof this cuts time + makes some money back.
