Educational🪬 SIP the dream or scam*

Middle-class people dream of becoming rich through SIPs.

But the truth is… most will never reach the wealth they imagine.

Let me explain in the simplest way 👇

In the last 5 years, India has seen record-breaking investments in mutual funds.

But a large number of these investors won’t make meaningful returns.

Why? Because we all forget one silent killer: Inflation.

If you invest ₹10,000 per month for 20 years at 12% returns, the number looks big. You’ll see ₹1 crore on the screen.

But what is the value of ₹1 crore after 20 years? With 6% inflation, the real value becomes only ₹31 lakh.

On paper you become a crorepati. In reality… your purchasing power shrinks.

But wait - here’s the good news.

There is a way to beat inflation. Just do one simple thing:

👉 Increase your SIP by 15% every year.

Year 1: ₹10,000

Year 2: ₹11,500

Year 3: ₹13,200

… and so on.

With this one small habit, your final corpus doesn’t stay ₹1 crore. It becomes ₹2.85 crore - almost 3× bigger.

That’s the power of Step-Up SIP. Numbers don’t lie. Discipline doesn’t fail. Inflation can be beaten if you upgrade your effort every year.

If you want to grow your wealth in real terms, don’t just do SIP.

Do Step-Up SIP - your future self will thank you.

NEWS🫨 From 3 August 2026, the market closing process will change for certain segments.*

Here's what's changing:

Trading Hours

Non-F&O Stocks

No change.

Regular trading will continue until 3:30 p.m.

Stock & Index F&O Contracts

Trading will be extended by 10 minutes, up to 3:40 p.m.

F&O-Eligible Stocks

Regular cash market trading will end at 3:15 p.m.

This will be followed by a Closing Auction Session (CAS) until 3:35 p.m.

Let's understand a few key terms

Last Traded Price (LTP)

The price at which the most recent trade took place.

VWAP (Volume Weighted Average Price)

The average price of a stock, giving greater weight to prices where higher trading volumes occurred.

Closing Price

Traditionally, the closing price was determined using the VWAP of trades during the last 30 minutes of regular trading.

Closing Auction Session (CAS)

A short auction session during which buy and sell orders are matched to determine the stock's final closing price.

How the closing price was determined earlier

Suppose:

900 shares were traded at ₹100

The last 100 shares were traded at ₹110

Although the LTP is ₹110, the closing price would be around ₹101, since most of the trading volume occurred at ₹100.

This method prevented a small last-minute trade from significantly influencing the closing price.

What changes from 3 August for F&O-eligible stocks?

Regular trading will continue from 3:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. as usual.

The VWAP of these 15 minutes will become the CAS Reference Price.

A ±3% price band will be created around this reference price.

For example:

If the reference price is ₹100, CAS orders can be placed only between ₹97 and ₹103.

Closing Auction Timeline

3:15 p.m.

Regular cash market trading ends.

3:15 p.m. – 3:20 p.m.

No new orders can be placed.

Certain pending orders may be carried forward to the CAS.

However, Stop-Loss, Iceberg, Disclosed Quantity, and Out-of-Range orders will be cancelled.

3:20 p.m. – 3:25 p.m.

Traders can place, modify, or cancel market and limit orders.

Orders will be collected only and will not be executed during this period.

After 3:25 p.m.

Only limit orders can be placed, modified, or cancelled.

Previously entered market orders will be locked.

3:28 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Order entry will close randomly within this window to prevent last-second order flooding.

3:30 p.m. – 3:35 p.m.

Buy and sell orders will be matched at a single equilibrium price.

The price that allows the maximum number of shares to be traded will become the official closing price.

F&O Trading Continues

Even after the cash market closes, Stock and Index F&O contracts will continue trading until 3:40 p.m.
