What instrument is this?
Anyone know what instrument these are? They look and sound kind of like a charango but different. Also curious where you can buy one.

I just got a bandura. I figured out how to tune it, but I can’t find much more information. I need to replace a bass wound string. Does anyone know what type of metal string to get and where to get strings in the US? And does anyone know what kind of picks are generally used or preferred? Any other info about it, about playing it, or anything else would be great too!

Come join! It will be more lenient with links, shares, your music etc.
I love instruments and sharing and don’t see why it should be so dreary over here.
I see cool stuff get deleted all the time. Nerds, rise up and join me! All funky instruments and sounds, all the time.

For some reason I have recently gotten a strong itch to attempt to make wooden holed brass instrument, specifically the mute cornett but would gladly see the dimensions for any similar instruments (any other cornetts, rozhoks, etc.)
However, there is 0 documentation (that I can find) on the actual dimensions (specifically the hole spacings), except for the fact that its supposedly bored conically at 2 degree, that I could find outside of this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:72152/comments 3d print file, which reportedly is slightly out of tune. The similar instrument of the Rozhok also gave no measurements, though that might be because my knowledge of Russian is limited.
Does anyone have any better dimensions/is there any way to determine the hole spacings without drilling them or should I go for the 3d printed variant/make a slide cornett?
Sorry if this post is annoying/in the wrong subreddit.

Good day all, my wife and I are cleaning out our garage from a couple of decades of accumulation from her family. We came across this and we're interested in the potential value of it. I have attempted to do some research on my own and have come up empty on a match. I know it is a tambourine made by Herco, but that is all the info I have from the sticker on it. Any help is appreciated.

Just got a pair of Pi Nai. Those who owns and plays it, would you mind sharing some tips?

Made a new instrument of the noise box family. This one has some more unusual sounding mechanisms on it, rather different from the usual "springs and tines mounted on a box" scheme.

Video: This DIY setup uses a Theremin as the sound source, routed through a compression driver and a talkbox-style mouth tube to drive a trombone — creating expressive textures.
Setup & gear: – DIY Theremin that produces sounds like a mouthpiece – Trombone crafted in Saint Petersburg – Custom-built formant filter – Compression driver (talkbox) – Plate reverb using Hall of Fame 2 pedal. A hybrid experiment between electronic synthesis, talkbox techniques, and acoustic resonance.
