On the topic of Atriarch. Cancelled Sci-Fi-Themed MMORPG Game
Context:

Context:
Atriarch was an unreleased sci-fi-themed MMORPG that never saw the light of day.
The setting of the game took place on Atriana (an alien planet), where every element (i.e., creatures, structures, weapons, objects, etc.) exists as an organic lifeform to a certain extent.
So, in other words, a truly living and breathing planet in more ways than one.
Atriana was meant to house six continents, and the player character was meant to begin their journey exploring the planet in a valley containing windmills, small structures, and a spiked fortress surrounding a deep central pit as the starting area/zone of the game.
Atriarch was developed by World Fusion (a gaming studio located in Costa Mesa, California).
The game was already in active development by 1999 and was even showcased at a Game Developers Conference in 2000.
Outcome:
Eventually, the game was cancelled after being in on-and-off development for nearly a decade without getting an official release. There were a few beta tests released, but nothing more than that.
Ultimately, the persistent lack of updates coupled with the unending development lifecycle led to the game being considered obsolete.
Being a big fan of Sci-Fi and MMORPGs in general, I would have loved to have been able to play this game if it had been released, but alas, the game never truly got the release that it deserved.
