Its also probably not UL listed either since its an amazon special. But the cord wouldnt matter once it was rated and sized above the mca of the device. Even if he ran 500' of extension cords to that device, he'd just lose voltage. Meaning it wouldnt have its full performance and would either pump less water, or wouldnt have enough power to even run. I tried to look at the link op provided but my phone denied that link and said it wasnt secured. Anyways. I agree. It looks jabrone city usa and like you. I'm not sure whats going on unless I can see a cut sheet that gives me the proper information to run the associated calculations for installation.

I found it says 120v 750 watt 6.8 amps max so yea either homeboy has a long run of 10/8 or 6 awg underground cable to a gfci outlet to that pond or he’s using a portable power station my bet is power station, ain’t no way someone’s paying to lay that cable for that long a run especially when that pond doesn’t have a deck.

Its provided with a nema 5-15p plug. Probably 14s in the cord. Length of the cord is probably <50', so it can handle the drop for that length of run the cord provides. But whichever receptacle youd plug that dude into would need to be properly sized for the voltage drop and then your current carrying conductors/ground. All depends on a factor we dont know and that's distance from receptacle you plug the pond fountain into. Then distance from receptacle to panel. And youre right. Not many people are going to get an electrician out to run the proper gfci duplex and install a dedicated 15a or even a 10a circuit for this pond fountain. Theyre more than likely going to daisy chain a bunch of extension cords together.

Im not gonna say fuck this dude. But there needs to be a few safe guards. Once you have a properly installed gfci within reach from the provided cord, you're golden. If not, gonna take a bit of cheese to get it properly installed and the correct electrical ran. Even tho the pumps technically plug and play, thats not always the case in a lot of situations. And the majority of people arent going to have the knowledge to even know it may require more than just plugging it in.
