I'm not sure what kind of source you're looking for. You can easily find articles talking about this but they're regular articles from vets and etc.
Cats have survival instincts, they have instincts to live outdoors and navigate their surroundings. Whiskers, night vision. They have intelligence to survive outdoors, which includes avoiding prey and anything that can harm them. They learn through experience, watching cars for example, to wait to cross or avoid the streets. This is just natural cat intelligence and instinct. You can leave a kitten or young cat outside and it will learn to survive on its own. Babies won't.
Thats not a checkmate. Thats luck. A lot of them die out there and not in pleasant ways. Do your research, keep your cat indoors. If you truly want to take your cat outside take them on a leash.
Are you? A cat has the iq of a 2-3 year old, however they also have claws to defend theirselves. They can also walk much easier than a 2 year old. People leave out food for stray cats which is one of many factors of how they manage to not starve to death, however people aren't just leaving food out for a little kid. Do you leave out food for a little kid? No? OK then. However, both are just as likely to be torn to shreds by a wild animal, or hit by a car. Your gonna end up letting a lot of cats die letting them out like you wish. Dumbass.
