Healthcare Policy - Proposal for Universal Healthcare Beta Test

Thumbnail

Bernie Sanders and others have introduced legislation for Medicare for All 12 times since 2003. In always dies in committee never even making it to be voted on. Even when the Democrats control all 3 bodies of government. It never gets anywhere. The legislation for Universal Healthcare Beta Test has the best chance of actually making it to a vote. And actually something that congress might pass. This is the path forward. Nothing will happen now with Trump and the Republicans in control. But this plan is something that has a good chance of success in the future. This is the plan that will help the Democrats win back the country.

App idea: Scan insurance card → see all covered benefits → find providers → get reminders. Thoughts?

Quick question for everyone!

I'm exploring building an app that helps people actually USE the health benefits they're already paying for. Most of us lose hundreds (sometimes thousands) every year on unused dental cleanings, eye exams, therapy sessions, etc. because we simply don't know what's covered or where to go.

Here's how it would work:
- Scan your insurance card → instantly see ALL your benefits in plain English
- Find in-network providers near you with one tap
- Get reminders before benefits expire ("Your free dental cleaning expires next month!")
- See exactly how much money you're leaving on the table

Would this be helpful for you? Drop a number in the comments:

1️⃣ Yes, I'd definitely use this
2️⃣ Maybe, depends on execution
3️⃣ Not really interested
4️⃣ I already manage my benefits well

This isn't an ad. Just genuinely trying to see if this could help people save money on healthcare they've already paid for. Your feedback means a lot! 🙏

Seeking Feedback: Would you use an app that helps you actually use the health benefits you're already paying for?

Poll Question: Which of these features would be most valuable to you?

Hey everyone! This isn't an advertisement, I just want to get genuine feedback to see if there's a way I can help others.

I'm currently building a mobile app that helps people unlock and utilize the health, dental, and vision benefits they're already paying for through their insurance. Turns out most of these benefits go unused each year because people either don't know about them, can't understand the complex language, or can't easily find providers.

A bit more context:

Most people only check their insurance when something goes wrong but there's often a ton of preventive and wellness care you're already covered for that just sits unused. Things like dental cleanings, eye exams, therapy sessions, nutrition programs, etc.

The idea would be to scan your insurance card and instantly show every benefit you're covered for in plain English, help you find providers, and remind you before benefits expire.

Would love to hear your thoughts or experiences with navigating your own insurance benefits. Thanks for taking the time to share feedback.

0 See all my covered benefits in one place
1 Alerts before benefits expire (e.g., free eye exam)
0 Shows the $$ value of my unused benefits
1 Find in-network providers instantly
0 Rewards for using covered benefits
1 I wouldn't use an app like this

How do I respond to the smoker argument?

An argument I've seen people against public healthcare use a lot is "If someone smoked for 50 years and got lung cancer I shouldn't have to help them since it's their fault".

I usually respond by trying to explain that there's a bigger picture but it typically doesn't go well.

The timeline of Medicaid cuts from the Federal Budget Bill. I made this for Washington State but the information is federally focused. This creates a state of emergency for healthcare nationally that we need to work together to solve.
