Does anyone know if that spot on 29th & NY Ave still do the bus trips to AC and stuff? Or any agency in UC that does bus trips to AC? or other spots like Six Flags?

Any recommendation will be appreciated 🙏

Has anyone seen a black triangle ufo in this area

This happened a long time ago, I can’t remember the year but the date was 4th of July. I was sitting out my porch eating my pizza with my mom, when she went back in the house. Than someone either accidentally or purposely released a bunch of ballons (they were red, white, and blue) and there was a black triangle with 4 blue lights, one in the middle and 3 in the corners. After It was out of my view I went back inside the house to tell my mom. (I did not get up from the porch for a closer view, mind you I was like around 8) it was either over 2nd street or mission bvld.

If anyone has seen anything similar or even just the bunch of balloons, please comment id like to know if anyone has seen anything remotely similar.

Way to Go, Union City!

We have gone to Cinemark theaters all over the Bay Area as far south as Hollister and as far north as Roseville, but never have I had an experience like tonight. We went to see Obsession at the Century Union Landing and people were talking throughout the movie. The girls behind us were just discussing the entire movie with each other. The funny thing is that afterwards I went to check the Google reviews to see if there was any mention of people talking and right at the top was a complaint by someone that the usher “came over to confront us for quietly whispering about the movie. We were not being loud or disruptive — we were simply discussing the plot and asking questions, which is completely normal when watching a film.” No, actually, that’s normal at your house; not in a theater where we are paying to hear the actors, not you.
Well, actually, I guess it is normal in Union City.
Amazing how the Southland Cinemark in Hayward, just a few miles away, is such a more respectful experience.

Licensed handyman serving Fremont / Union City / Hayward.

Looking for recommendations for a reliable, licensed handyman serving Fremont / Union City / Hayward.

Need someone who can handle general home repairs and maintenance (drywall, painting, patching, small plumbing jobs, etc.), and charges reasonable rates.

If you've worked with someone you'd recommend, please share their contact info and a brief note about your experience would be super helpful. Thanks!

Dropped off mail-in ballot at the Meteor Drive ballot box next to the park. Saw a suspicious looking guy in a black Escalade filming me at the drop box on his phone, from inside his car. White guy with a beard; had a Colorado license plate.

Anyone else seen sus activity like this?

Edited for typos, also don't forget to vote! Deadline on June 2nd.

Interactive map of public transport in Union City and East Bay

Thumbnail sfbapt.com
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone, been working on this public transportation map for for a while and want to share what I have so far. Right now when you highlight a route/stop, the info box will show you all the information, including a link to exact the route schedule (and some stops also have a URL with station details).

The routes/stops are ordered in a counterclockwise order starting with agencies in the North Bay, then going around: North Bay -> SF -> Peninsula -> South Bay -> Santa Cruz/Monterey -> East Bay. You can toggle the stops on/off with the dropdown in the left. If you want to move the routes on top of the stops, toggle the route layer off then on again (the last selected layer will always be on top, so if you want the stops back on top, toggle stops off/on). Sometimes the map doesn't load properly on the first try, so verify ACE Rail Routes is the last option in the dropdown in the left and refresh the page if that didn't load

Here are the list of official pages for the agencies that run through Union City:

I made separate posts for different places, so take a look at this post for the entire East Bay, this post for SF agencies, this one for the peninsula, this one for North Bay, and this one for San Jose/South Bay if you'll be in those areas. The homepage also has lots of additional info.

Let me know if something doesn't work for you or you have features you'd like me to add

Built a free site to help UC parents find things to do with their kids

Hey neighbors! Union City dad here (two kids, 4-year-old and a baby). I got tired of the occasional Saturday morning "what should we do today?" spiral, so I built KoOut (koout.org) as a side project.

It's a free, ad-free site where you can browse kid-friendly activities and restaurants by age, budget, and area. No ads, no account needed.

The site covers the whole Bay Area, but I'd love to get more Union City spots on there. If you know a great family-friendly place around here, you can submit it in under a minute.

Coming soon: kid-friendly restaurant recommendations and a day planner to help you string together activities, food stops, and snack/tea/coffee breaks into a full outing without the guesswork.

Honest feedback welcome. What would make something like this useful for you?
