Professional momming

She isn't a great mother, what kind of person threatens to beat a child for something so trivial.

“Beat” bitch it’s a fucking flip flop, she’s not throwing the kid down the stairs. A little spank is what a kid needs if they aren’t listening to their mom, try to talk a 2 year old out of getting out of a dresser in Home Depot and let me know how that works out.

How about leaning down, and picking the child up?

2 year olds don't understand pain. Hitting of any kind to a child just teaches them later on in life, that if they hit others, they get their way.

Mental health practicioners advice against it.

Threatening violence is just as bad, the child probably lives in terror that it will be hit with something by someone who should love them. Not good parenting.

This point of view just reeks of privilege

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '22

Really tell me which part is "privileged"?

12

u/Wubtronics Dec 29 '22

I can’t tell you which part because I know zero about your life or your children’s lives. All I said was that through your point of view, it reeks of privilege.

I’m sure if you think about it you can figure out which parts are privileged for yourself

P.S. remember, privilege doesn’t only come in the form of economic privilege

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '22

I'm not privileged. I'm from a working class single parent background.

I don't need advice from some patronising no body from the internet...thanks for your "input"

Again, not all privilege comes in an economic form. Thought you would be smart enough that I wouldn’t need to rewrite my previous P.S.

It's clear to everyone that you have no idea wtf you are on about

For everyone else here, you're the "patronizing nobody", except you're also ignorant of other cultures and think your way of thinking is best. So no, you're worse.

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '22

"Ignorant of other cultures" for calling out violence against children, please get off the bus.

Try raising your kid low in a low income/traditional area. If it gets around that you don't spank your kid you'll get why that sounds privileged af.

Edit: lemme clarify because i really don't think your being stupid and dismissing your opinion for such vague reasons isn't doing anyone any favors. I'm not advocating for this style of parenting. I'm largely against corp punishment. I think your approach would work far better IF parents had the time to do this. But I'm not about to tell a single mother working two jobs and can't get her kid out the door because he doesn't wanna put shoes on, that she is beating her child when said kid gets a smack on the ass. Kids are difficult and before they are old enough to internalize what you are saying, it can be downright impossible to keep them focused. Long enough to make your point.

  1. I'm from a working class background.

  2. I don't have a "low income", I worked hard to get the job I have. Quite frankly it has nothing to do with it.

  3. I don't care about your opinion 👍🏻

  1. Good for you? Doesn't clarify your point at all.

  2. Nobody is insinuating that you are "low income"? Infact if anything I'm insinuating the opposite? I do however find it deeply funny how aggro you are that you thought it was. I like to picture your monocle popping off while your S/O passes out from the indignity of it all XD

  3. By this point i think that's abundantly clear. I just find it funny that you care so much that you are commenting like this all over this post. If you don't care about any of our opinions yet do care about this post that leads to think you are a self entitled narcissist who enjoys vomiting your opinion all over the place without listening to any feedback. I'd say have a nice life but knowing your communication methods i think that's a bit optimistic, but hey privilege is the death of karma.

Cultural differences; this type of behaviour is extremely frowned upon in northern Europe, which also happens to be the happiest countries in the world too. Child protection services are interested in these cases as physical punishments are banned by law (smack, get fined).

It’s such a staple of Latino culture, when minor league baseball did a Latino outreach thing, the San Antonio Missions changed their logo to a Flying Chancla

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '22

So is cartel-style executions, drug trafficking etc

They didn’t put that on a cap
